Yes, a bowl. Some ferrets like to dunk their heads in the water. I don't think I've ever heard of a ferret drowning itself while getting a drink of water from a bowl, it's probably not something that's likely to happen.

I wish I could post a video of how she digs at her water when it's in a bowl lol. Rather funny but she paws at the sides like she's scratching. Must be a digging thing. And I'll make the switch soon I have a food/water dish that attach to the sides

I have a "spill proof" water bowl that does really well to keep the water in even when they flip it upside down. My largest ferret loves to scoot the bowl around in their pen. He'll also dig at it like he's trying to splash water on himself, and gets his head and chest wet.

Yeah that's exactly what mine does with a water bowl. Digs lol. Also. This is her latest poop picture. It seems to have gone back to seedy looking grease. I'm rather concerned. It is very thin but I don't think she has a blockage because the room we use for her is very clean. Thoughts ?? Thanks -D

Bump!
It's weird. She goes from nice looking smooth poop to seedy looking mucus poop
Is this the instability in kibble?

Rosie is now fully on FDR Stella and chewys duck and rabbit. I know I need to add a third but the only stores in my area are special little mom and pop shops that only sell the smaller bags. Her fur coat has doubled in fullness and texture. Pretty sure I gave her a cold but it's soon to pass, she's very playful today. My question is, could her poop look like this because of stress and a cold? It's slightly green and looks seedy. What can I add to her duck rabbit soupie to possibly get rid of the seediness?

Random green poop? She woke up this morning dry heaving but didn't puke. Seemed to have normal poop during night (woke and fed at 530am) Thoughts?

as far as seedy--it is usually fat and proteins in foods not digested properly---- I do-not know if occasional seedy is anything to worrry about. Read more: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/20568/ferret-poop#ixzz4GBwNUWyFMine had frequent, tiny heaves but was related to feeding fowl. It caused ulcers in throat. I guess from acid in tummy coming up. One of mine is very sensitive to fowl, so probably not the same. Hope she is feeling better and that someone can help u .

To be honest with you, I feed her the same 1oz duck goose, half oz salmon cod and half oz rabbit. All FDR. rabbit frozen.
Daily her poops change. Sometimes she lays nice ones which I obviously high five her for. (Cause guys do that). Otherwise she occasionally has a small green poop or one that almost looks like wood chips in it, but she has nothing to eat in my room besides her food.
Idk I'll keep a close eye but there's gotta be something I can add to her meal either daily or weekly to make it more normal more often
