I replied on your other post with some links to help with just that Read through those. And yes, I had a boy that wound up with IBD. His first sensitivity was chicken. We spent gods alone know how much having stool samples done, and all came back clear. Once chicken was out of his diet he had normal raw fed stools.

Well she pretty much is totally switched too Orijen. I'm just putting a pinch of totally ferret in and she's diving right in. I don't know if I'm over feeding her though, I give her about a half cup of food in morning and at night and sometimes it's empty sometimes she only eats half. But I'm posting because her poop is anything but normal. She just did a little ferret turd and it wasn't even considered a poop. I don't think she has a blockage because she literally is never around stuff that she can swallow besides her food. She is not limping or acting weird so I'm hoping and assuming this is all due to the kibble change. I need to talk with the woman more about this raw thing because she's totally against it. And I'm now one of these people who gurus about feeding raw. Thoughts on irregular poop? This particular poop is just a little slimy ball. Thanks Edit:: Rosie says hello

Glad to hear she is nearly all switched over to the orijen, especially glad to see that you are considering raw. As far as poops, can't say without seeing it really. Just don't forget that you still need at least 2 other kibble types.
Her Switch was still on the quick side so there can still be a bit of tummy upset especially if she was already having tummy troubles. Have they been getting more formed?

I see no point in mixing 3 kibbles when I'm switching to raw after this bag of Orijen is gone.
The poop actually started looking half normal in color and consistency. I now take almost a full half cup of Orijen and just a pinch of totally ferret

This is Rosie's poop after basically a full switch to Orijen. There's only a pinch of totally ferret in the mix. I know I should use 3 kibbles but I'm probably making the switch to raw soon. Thoughts?

Rosie has such a sweet face. That kibble poop doesn't look bad to me but I do see some seedy looking parts and I wonder if that's from the chicken. Seedy usually means undigested fats but I haven't noticed it in kibble poops before. Origen red does have a lot of chicken in it though. You mentioned your lady isn't onboard with raw. One possible thing to do is for you to prepare the meals and then put them in serving baggies. All she would have to do is put them out for Rosie and then she wouldn't have to deal with the prep or the ickiness of dealing with organs. My Paul doesn't deal with meals but it's interesting how much information he has picked up from my talking about this so much and after the first year then he learned so much and is very happy to see the results from feeding a natural diet. I hope your wife/partner will change her mind also. Tell pretty little Rosie that I said Hi!

Those stools aren't bad at all The seedy is likely from the stress/tummy upset of the chicken she is still getting a bit of, or the quick switch. Even on Orijen you will notice much smaller stools since there is so much less filler in it.

I noticed you said Orijen red has lots of chicken in it?
From my research I have a grain free chicken free regional red.
I think tomorrow morning I'll start just Orijen with no totally ferret.
Soon comes raw. I still need to figure out a good game plan as to what meats to pick up.

Begin a switching thread on Diet Transitions and the mentors will help with that. Then look for a good Asian market near you. They will be a great source for organs and hearts and have good prices. You can check out Yelp for review of their meat section.

Ok so. Rosie has been on Orijen kibble for a few weeks now. I know I should have 3 but I will be switching to raw in the next few weeks. Three photos here. Photo 1 and 2 are of her most recent poop and a close up. And photo 3 is just me wondering, she only drinks about half of one of these a day, is this normal? Her behavior is totally normal. I usually have her out for about 3 hours every morning till she falls asleep, same at night. Then I cage her when I sleep and she's sleeping lol. How does the poop look compared to the chicken she wasn't enjoying ? And how is water consumption ?

Poopy looks fine to me. Would give a crock for water, so she would not have to labor for it and would be better on teeth.

By crock do you mean bowl? I had one of the dishes that attaches to side of cage but it seemed like every time she drank, she got water in her nostrils and had to shake and it out and it bothered her.
