I go to the vet today to get his BG checked and possibly his meds adjusted. I'll let you all know how that goes I don't think he's septic myself, I think his tumors are progressing. Hopefully we'll just get him adjusted and back on the right track Good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending well wishes for little Jack.

Jack got a 100% Clean bill of health, Insulinoma aside.
We decided to space his meds out in 3 takings instead of two, and we will see how that works
Today I began putting some slivers in the soup for the grouped ferrets, Thor was the first to dig in, immediately pulling a bit out and eating it on his hammock. The girls haven't awaken for dinner yet.

Literally first thread I come online to check this morning and all great news~ (dance) The slivers are doing quite well, Goo Thor! (hehe)~ and Spacing out the meds for Jack sounds like a wonderful idea! I'm eager to hear how it goes.

I was curious if it would be easier to blend the food less for the grouped ferrets gradually, as while Thor enjoys the slivers, the girls have taken to hiding the bit in their hammocks, for Thor to find and eat later!

Also today I spent a good hour preparing and making "food packets" for the ferrets for easy mush making

In my opinion, I don't think its necessary to blend gradually. If they're accepting the slivers then it would be best to keep it as it is. Are the girls eating the slivers as well as Thor is or do they still need more time to adjust? Maybe you could try hand feeding them a sliver or two in between meals. Some ferrets will eat their fill, then stash some for later. If you're worried that Thor may be eating their fill with the stashes, maybe you could increase the size you feed and see how they go.

Well I learned the lid of my food processor is broken when I went to make soupies and a liver flew out to slap my in the face!
The girls are showing interest in the slivers now, I constantly see them eating some in some part of the cage The food bowl could be empty and they'll have a sliver somewhere to eat!

Nothing like a good liver in the face to wake you up in the morning! :heehee: It's sucks that your food processor lid is broken. I accidentally turned my blender on when I made soup at one stage and it went everywhere! Maybe you can take this opportunity to try pushing just slivers on everyone. Is Jack still on the soup? Maybe you can try hand feeding him some thin sliced slivers and see how he goes with that.

Jack is still adjusting to the soup I recently changed him to an every 6 hour regiment for his medicine (yay 2 am meds) and so far he has not had a seizure since I started him.
Today, my ferrets were VERY excited to have me take their bowl to refill it. Practically dancing with anticipation. It was rather nice to see them enthusiastic for their meal, rather than "oh the kibble got refilled"

I'm so glad they are so enthusiastic about it already! They are making absolutely wonderful progress. How thick is the soup that you are making right now?

For the group, their soup is more "chunks" than actual soups, plenty of pieces for them to take and store
Jack is still on soup soup. His recent events had made him disinterested as he was feeling unwell but hes showing more interest again

Hi! Sorry I was away yesterday. I was suppose to be away for today too but I really wanted to come online and see how everyone is. 2am meds must be so tough! I thought about what it must be like looking after a ferret who has an illness like Insulinoma a few weeks ago, I guess with every routine you just adjust accordingly and besides, it benefits the ferret. We want nothing more than our little fuzzies to live a nice, happy and comfortable life. ;u; It's such a relief to know that this is showing to be working out for Jack. He must be feeling alot better now. I have to say, You're doing such a marvellous job with him (and everyone actually!!). I'm practically dancing around just hearing how everyone is so enthusiastic for their new diet and that Jack is starting to get interested in it. It definitely is such a nice thing to see ferrets become so excited for meal time. Feeding time is my favourite time, especially when you can see their happy faces and how satisfied they look after a nice meal.

His recent events had made him disinterested as he was feeling unwell but hes showing more interest again They are stashing the chunks - are they eating them? Also, are the slivers only muscle, or are you adding some liver and heart slivers also? Last Q (for now hehe) - how big are the slivers you are giving them that they are eating right now?
