So quite simply I was wondering how many grams a day should a male ferret be given? (RAW)

I read males will eat 2-3oz, females 1-2oz.

And 1 oz = 28.3 g so that's
M: 57 - 114 F: 28 - 85
(although I though 5 oz was the max for males? 5 oz = 142 g)

(although I though 5 oz was the max for males? 5 oz = 142 g) Those measurements are just generalizations. Some will eat more, some less. The only way to determine how much YOUR ferret needs is by weighing what they're served in a 24 hour period, then weighing what is left at the end of the 24 hour period, and subtracting the 2 numbers. If you do that every day for a week, you can find the average amount that your ferret eats in a day. That's how much he needs.

The measurements that I usually tell people is jills/sprites eat between 1 and 3 oz; 28 to 85 g and hobs/gibbs 3 to 6 oz; 85 to 170 g. These are approximate amounts and depending on time of year, age, health will vary. Kits do not even factor into this except to say they will eat 3 to 4 times that amount per day ciao

I've been serving both of mine a total of 12-14oz a day, no wonder half of the food I feed them gets stashed and has to be thrown away

My four ferrets together have been eating around 10-14 ounces of food per day, depending on whether one of them has hidden any or blocked access by managing to have covered it with a box or something. If they eat less than half of any heart/liver/organ meal I usually try to mix more of the same with their next meal so they have to eat it.
