Today I made new batch of puree, a bit more chunkier than previous one and all of them are eating well. Loki caught some bug or cold - he is two days on Amoxiclavulanic acid syrup now because he had fever, sneezing, caughing and sore throat. Others are okay - so far.

Loki's blood screen came yesterday evening, both hematology and biochemistry came okay except for slightly elevated blood proteins due to inflammation. He is still on antibiotics for few days but all of them are eating like champs. I just position them besides the small plate and voila! I need to make new batch of puree tomorrow - do I add bigger chunks now, or something else? I will weigh them tonite and post their weights. Thanks.

Great, bigger chunks today for all of them
Loki is stil now well, he got one more antibiotic so now he gets two because he is still making wet sounds from his sinuses and nose, and partly throat. He eats well, though

Honestly, the mixture I made today (still rabbit and chicken // liver, hearts) is packed into 150 g portions because they eat great and it doesn't seem to me they gain fat. I'll weigh them on Friday and post here Since Loki is STILL (-.-) on antibiotics I would like to introduce new protein when he is off meds. Is it okay?

Do you have their weights?
Yes, of course you can wait with a new protein. Maybe try a fattier meat next like beef, pork or duck?

And maybe think about an oil as treat, like salmon oil?
Gives a lot of calories, I use slightly more oil treats in winter than in summer, but my ferrets live outside and they should really get round and fluffly to keep up with the temperatures.

I ordered salmon oil from zooplus, waiting to arrive these days. Finished with antibiotics, finally, hopefully cough and runny nose don't come back. I am keeping PC at minimum since I had chornea erosion on right eye yesterday and it hurts like h*ll Weights (friday evening 4th of December) Loki 1240 g Hogar 1320 g Sigmund 1880 g Signy 630 g

Salmon oil evening - Hogar likes it, Loki can lick it, I had to force Sigmund to lick it from spoon and barely got Signy to open mouth to try it. Zina, Ernest, Huritt and Ayasha like it

Hope your eye gets better soon!
I'm so freaking tired from this week...
Yay for the salmon oil and the end of meds! Don't worry they'll get used to the oil, some ferrets take a while.
Cool, so new protein waiting to be tried or already done?

I am still waiting with new protein. Now four of them eat 150 g for dinner every day. I wanted to try to chop some veal bits in and give them tomorrow or day after tomorrow. I was afraid to make it into mixture, but rather try chopped in small pieces and mixed in it on daily basis for starters.
Current mix has rabbit liver and rabbit hearts 50:50 ratio with chicken ones. They LOVE it!
