i think the mites are gone, but she must still be scratching. Dar said she's had a little blood in her ear but i don't see mites anymore. I need to get a microscope. it would be handy for so many things. I just looked at her left ear and it looked good other than the oil buildup fro the treatment. Once that was removed i didn't see any scabs. I'll check the right when she's awake.

I never saw mites in my baby's ears. Matter of fact, she checked negative first vet visit, but on second one she had them? ? so now when they go, I will mention mite check. Vet had treatments at two vials each of kitten Revolution<5lbs for my 3 ferrets, with a two week wait before applying 2nd vial. ( i guess to let other eggs hatch) Other ferrets could have them.

2 weeks later she's still with us. But now she has a tumor right under her left eye. If she had any sort of quality of life we'd consider surgery, but we're just going to monitor it. Booboo had a similar tumor removed and within a month he had 4 more. She's only eating soup now, kibble seems too much work and hard on her teeth. I've done some research on home euthanasia, but haven't found any I'd be willing to chance. I hate to say it, but we'd really prefer it if she just didn't wake up one day. We already have an urn for her, which we ordered when she was down, figuring she'd need it soon. I think she knows that and is just giving death the finger. MIss Prissy is 8 years and 8 months old

I am so sorry. Poor baby.
My daughter's little schnauzer is 13 and just got diagnosis of diabetes. Daughter has to give it two shots a day. The little thing refuses to eat which is totally uncharacteristic. She never fed it scraps from table. It was never overweight.
Goodbyes are so sad.
I hope your little one crosses bridge peacefully.

Marty had a tumor under the opposite eye, and I didn't know what it was until I took him in for the ones on his neck and chest. It hasn't come back since it was removed, and he doesn't scratch his face nearly as much.

Miss Prissy will be 9 in March, if she gets there. I started this thread so others can see what an 8-9 year old Marshall ferret may look like. I tried to get the tumor by her eye, which is growing again Prissy with Abita, who is now ~3 1/2 This is hard. EVery time I think it's time to let her go she shows new life.

Mis Prissy is 9 today. I tell you friends, she is skin and bones, but she is still going. She still comes out looking for soups and an occasional treat. She falls down a lot and is pretty incontinent, so she spends most of her time in a fenced off half of the ferret room until she goes potty. We can't bear to put her to sleep because she is still active, but it's hard to watch her and not feel sad for her. I know she'll let us know when she's ready.

Hi uncle Joe a lot of my old jills who are getting ready to leave looked like this if you feel the center of her skull it will feel pointed and boney this is a sure indicator she is getting ready to go in her own time she will pick when and simply slip away call me crazy but I have whispered in a few ears telling them if they want to go its fine and within a few days they drift off in there sleep let her choose she knows she is loved and will go when she is good and ready give her a kiss from me take care bye for now Bev
