Hiya! So I've been lurking on here for just about 2 years now, and more frequently the last few months. You guys are awesome and have taught me so much. I'm just now making an account because I'd really like to start feeding raw and am looking for answers a bit closer to my situation. I have 4 fuzzies: Koi, Pocky, Booker, and Ciel. And they are the love of my life, without a doubt. I tried to upload a picture with this, not sure if it worked. Here's to hoping. (giggle) postimg.org/image/v6myvs6qh/

Yes! You guys are super friendly and just amazing! I've been feeding them Evo for almost 2 years and I heard it was discontinued. Instead of "switching" them to the cat version, which it the exact same formula, I figured I would see what other things are available. I just switched them to NVI and even just the improvement from that makes me want to feed them raw. Thanks for the links. I've been perusing the the newbie section and FAQ, and read through most of the FAQ main docs. I like the bacteria doc, it was very funny and enlightening. Most of my questions have been answered there, and I'll keep going through that and the switching threads to get ideas. One question about the soup. Do you usually make a single/day serving and refrigerate what they don't eat? Or can you make a larger batch (like 2-3 days worth) and keep it refrigerated? Is there another way to make it without the aid of a food processor? I plan on joining the mentor program as soon as I reach the minimum, haha. Posts like this count, right? Replying on my own thread... Nice to meet you, and I hope Haru had an awesome birthday, she's adorable!

hello and welcome! It's great to read all the info on here, when I first joined I must have lost several days just reading everything I could on here You can make the soup in as big batches as you like, just keep the proportions correct. Then freeze it in tupperware containers, or ice cube trays, the cubes then go into a ziplock bag after they are frozen. They can last frozen for quite a while But remember you want them off the soup as fast as possible, it is not a long term feeding food. it doesn't clean their teeth so you'll have to brush them You want to go through the switching stages as fast as your ferrets agree to, and get them eating big chunks and bone. Good luck (dance)

Thank you all! I definitely feel a lot more welcome on this side of the forum. I'm definitely in that phase right now! There's so much great information on here, and even better ideas. I'm trying to sort through everything I'll need to start and be prepared for what my fuzzies throw at me. They'll definitely be a handful, Booker is extremely picky. I had to scruff him to get him to try Ferretone (half-diluted with EVOO, for claw-clipping-distraction purposes only!) and pumpkin, even when I got him as a kit. Profile pics, absolutely. Names, not so much, I'm terrible at remembering them. I still find it amazing that some of you have had fuzzies for 10, 20, 30 years! Such an inspiration! I definitely look forward to getting more involved, less lurking, hopefully more remembering names. Pictures! Ciel, my tubby one, and Pocky on the right, my playful one that does not have time to pose for pictures Koi, my escape artist and squirmer Booker, my gentle giant Ciel, again. I kinda think he might be a Waardy, he's certainly a special panda. Haha And I tried a few times to get one like that for Pocky, but she was not having it and I only got blurs.

My thoughts exactly! So cute and so loving! Booker is adorable. He'll run over to where I am, and just flop down by my feet and lay there staring up at me until I come to him. Nice to meet all of you and your fuzzies! They look like an enjoyable handful, hehe
