How old would you said this ferret is before I buy him? The owner said 9 months and I do believe her, but I still want to make sure. Thanks

You have to post a clear closeup picture of his teeth for anyone to tell an estimation. On the other hand, I wouldn't let age influence an adoption decision.. young or older, he would give the same love

Folks here would probably say that good close-up pictures of the ferret's teeth are the best way to estimate its age. Unfortunately it seems lots of people putting ferrets up for adoption lie about age.
Edit: Ferret ninja'd.

Also, he has a wide face, I'm inexperienced with waardies, but does he look like one Males have broader skulls then females and sables don't get wardenbergs. The disease is tied to blazes, where some degree of white stripe down the middle of the head and pandas. DEWs can be wardys too I think. It is very hard to tell the age of the ferret without looking at the teeth (as said) but it is easy to see that it is an adult, as it has lost all of it's baby coat. He looks healthy and happy so that should be good enough. lol

Actually waardenburg can now affect sables (all colors actually), since it passed on the by the genes, which means a sable father with a waardy parent and a waardy mom can make a waardy sable. That is a horrible way to describe it but the best way I can think of pointing out how it happens. I think Heather had a waardy sable at one point.

2, 5 and 6 for sure, but I've never spent much time around waardies so am not an expert. 6 is obvious, but I know it's often much more subtle.

They all are lol. So, after time if you breed waardies you will get waardies...colour becomes unimportant. Many are discovering that sable ferrets if born to "fancy" parents are often waardies and are deaf too * with many of the behavioural symptoms and normal deafness that accompanies that syndrome. ciao

You trickster! I should have known.
It's a good lesson though. A lot of people hear waardy and immediately think of blazes.

Tricky Heather! It took me a long time to see it in my own girl even though I knew it by her behavior. I think it was masked by the fact that she has kit face too.

What is a waardy exactly? I have a ferret that I say has a corgi body. Short little legs, short, thick tail. Do waardys have physical health problems?
