She was getting really cranky so I let her go for a bit. For the past hour she's been hiding in the ferret's crate.

She is a beautiful cat. Does she like your ferrets yet ?

She doesn't mind the ferrets. She doesn't hiss or growl at them until they start being aggressive towards her. I just keep them away from her so she doesn't get her cheeks, paws and ears bitten.

Ferrets need a good dose of common sense.

With ferrets I do a surprise scruff and quickly dig in there with a dry q-tip before they know what happened. lol

Doesn't work that way with cats lol. I don't bother cleaning cats ears as they usually do a decent job themselves.

Yea, normally Miracle's pretty good with it but last night I noticed her shaking her head and scratching them a lot, so it was time to just do it.

HAH I finally cleaned the other one, and she's hiding in the ferret crate again. I wish I understood why she likes the crate so much more than most cats.

Could she possibly have ear mites, or an infection? Those are pretty much the ONLY times I noticed my cats doing that

I found a scratch in her ear, but her wax is a light gray brown and yellow brown. No sign of mites. And I didn't see any wet wax in there either, or watery sounds when she shakes her head, so I don't think its an infection.
She's always had really sensitive ears, it took me months to get her to trust me with touching them and she still does the "scared kitty corner" or face-in-pillow hiding technique when I mess with them too much.
