Oh my gosh!! This sounds like all his behaviors! Not eating much sleeping a lot and my playing a lot and laying on the floor. It's the stupid heat! Arg!

That poop picture looks like a nice healthy poop. I'm hoping that you dodged a bullet. The heat is hard on them. His poop does look a little dry. You could make a second bowl of kibble and add some water to it. Put a drop or two of oil into it and make it soupy like. That will give him better hydration and the oil will help soften his poops. Ferrets on kibble are usually slightly dehydrated. Not too much oil, 1/3 tsp every 3 days would be the limit. Otherwise he will have loose messy stools. Give Loki and your others a hug. It's hard being a ferrent, they can really scare you.

U can also make a little flavored water in a teaspoon with Beechnut or gerber chicken baby food and give occasionally. I did this when our air conditioner went out in middle of summer

I always keep a dozen or so water bottles in the freezer in case of emergencies. When I was in California our AC was terrible it constantly ran, barely cooled and costed about $400 a month to run in extreme heat.
Since I moved to Southern Oregon, our rental has awesome AC, it runs and actually cools enough to cycle on and off even after yesterdays 106 degree heat, and our electric bill has only been about $100 a month.
I would keep some frozen water bottles in the freezer and cycle them in and out of the cage when they melt. I put mine in old socks so that they are more comfortable for them to lay on. you will know its it the heat when you see him laying on the water bottles when he is sleeping to keep cool.
Fans don't really help ferrets since they do not have sweat glands. In fact it can dry them out more. I also have a marble slab that I put in their cage in the summer so they can keep cool on it.
looks like we may be getting a slight reprieve from the heat today, but looks like more triple digits later on this week.

I also use frozen water bottles, wrapped in towels or tshirts. When put into a larger sleeping den it actually keeps it pretty cool.

Why would his poop look like this? From shedding? This has been in there a bit and is slightly dried out from just sitting in there.

Pumpkin stools?? If so that's really slow, unless you've started up with the pumpkin again? That top one looks like fur. Have you done a water test to see if it is indeed fur? ciao

See if it comes through like that again. It's a bit odd but I'm not familiar with kibble stools but understood there was little variation (raw stools change from meal to meal), just a lot of it ciao
