This is a video I took of my ferret's first day at home. Take in mind he was very weak because of inadequate nutrition and he was just fed some chicken soup, he was hardly moving that day. As for the chinchilla, I've had her for 4 years and she is the sweetest creature. I am aware of how dangerous this could have been, I've been working with exotics for 7 years and this was all under control lol do not panic. They have not been in the same room since, the baby is now much more active and healthy so he would definately try to play/hunt little Lovette. www.facebook.com/angie.closetcreep/videos/10203037875468423/?l=9130484520394935231Lovette had never seen a ferret before, she was going full defense attack on him ready to spray him with pee. But since he was just... there, she didn't bother. My chinchillas play in a different chinchilla-proof room. And Sherlock will have another room just for himself

My dog acts the exact same as your chinchilla! He's so scared of my ferret whereas she will just sit there like 'dude, I'm not even doing anything' I gave up on introducing them. He's completely harmless, but way too much of a whimp. The only time he's relaxed is in the garden when she's on her leash He doesn't realise he's not ferret food.

If the ferret has access to the Chin's cage, you have to be absolutely sure everything is secure. We've seen many accidents over the years with prey and predators in the same room / house.

It surprised me how big the Chinchilla is compared to Sherlock. I know Sherlock is just a baby, but your Chin seems so big. He's quite beautiful. It almost looked like he was inviting Sherlock to play. I don't know anything about the little fellows, but he sure is cute.

Yes, Lovette is a large chinchilla xDD and she is so sweet with everyone. I keep my chinchillas and other rodents in a seperate room just for them. Sherlock shares his room with me lol
They all have very secure cages, but you never know. I don't wan't to risk it.
