Hi Kelleemiley, I fed kibble for awhile I am also in Canada. If you need an interim kibble while working on the switch try ziwipeak cat, Orijen cat or Natures Instinct. All suitable for a ferret and a lot better then the ferret kibbles. Global pet foods and boutique stores will carry these brands. Overall raw is the way to go

I wish that companies Actually made healthy and proper food and treats for animals. It's extremely frustrating. Maybe those that are not willing to go through the effort of raw diet would have healthier pets. In the end it all comes down to what you will do to protect your fur babies but there will always be those who don't put in all the effort. There are companies that do, but most pet owners support the easy, cheap kibbles. Commercial raw costs more upfront and takes a bit more care and planning in feeding. As more people have switched, the kibble companies have tried to improve their products. It comes down to consumer pressure. Personally, I'd like to see more raw companies advertising the benefits of their foods.

I guess I should ask about ferret lax as well I usually put that on their tummy to trim nails and when they cough during shedding time. I suppose that's no great either? I don't know if anyone answered you, so my appologizes if this is a repeat. But you can give the fuzzbutts raw egg in place of ferret lax and it does the same thing. My loki liked eating the egg by itself, but Liam will only eat it if its mixed into ground turkey. Either way is fine. Just remember, you can give yolk by itself, but you can't give the whites alone. Or you could just give them the whole thing.
