She might have been patiently waiting for u to come back and open the door and just went to sleep . When i go outside sometimes mine will follow me to the door---and when i come back, they will still be there waiting on me --it is strange:) They can have the patience of JOB.

Or she's feeling safer with you and is now more comfortable with sleeping exposed! It was months before Maisie would sleep exposed, and even now she doesn't do it too much, or for too long.
Or with the summer approaching it's getting a little too warm in her hidey hole? I switch out the materials in Maisie's favorite bed based on the seasons. Thick fleece in the winter, thin cotton in the summer (a lot of it, for comfort).

They have satin and an ice pack in their hidey hole since the AC is currently broken and it's 92 degrees outside and 80 in the house. And they have ice water and occasional dips in a kiddie pool.
I think it's the feeling safer thing because I caught her dead sleeping yesterday in the middle of my floor. It still scares me every time.. I though she had gotten heat stroke because her eyes were open and her breathing was undetectable... but then my little Panda bear snapped out of it when I wrapped her up in a cold blanket.

The AC in our house doesn't cool the house very evenly., and my ferrets get sluggish when the temperature reaches the high 70s in their room. I'm considering getting a small AC unit for their room, I just have to find the right one. I'm leaning toward a non window-mounted one.
