Super excited, while at my Uncles last night collecting two squirrels and one rabbit and half a dozen eggs, I was talking to my uncle and his friend and they invited Percy and myself to go rabbiting. Not entirely sure how Percy will get on but can't see why he won't figure out what needs to do. As long as he dosen't fall asleep 6 ft underground I will be proud off him Roll on winter and Percy's first rabbiting trip

A good locator collar is a must (go for the older type that read off the feet the digital ones have a tendancy to go crazy when there are power lines around ) good luck and take a decent spade with you just incase he decides he wants to stay with his first bunny underground lol take care bye for now Bev

Oh yes he will have a tracker collar on, my uncle goes rabbiting all the time, he shoots as well. Thank you for the top tips though.
Yes I will let you all know how it goes. Has anyone else taking their ferrets rabbiting?

It is not a practice here in states. We are also not big rabbit eaters.
It would be interesting to watch.
I heard a rabbit can give a kick--don't know if this is true or not.

The rabbits that we have both in the US and Canada aren't conducive to using ferrets. Our rabbits make their nests in shrubs and long grasses. Rabbits in the UK and Australia create warrens which are why ferrets make such good hunters. Rabbits in North America are more easily hunted using dogs ciao

There's a great book about that. It was written in the early 1900's by a ferret breeder/pest control man. It's called All about Ferrets and Rats by Adolph Issacsen. It's available for download on the Gutenburg project website.
