I'm a scared new ferrent. Just got my little girl a week ago, and just joined here today. She eats Marshall premium diet (that's what she was eating before I got her & I haven't switched yet). She went in her litter box, which is good. But I don't what could be the cause of this. Sorry for posting to emergency but I'm scared.

Ok....can't help with diet but...how old is your wee girlie? Kit? Rescued adult? You mention you've had her for a week, is she a solo? Been in contact with other ferrets? Can she have eaten a foreign object? Is she eating? Are the loose stools the only issue that you've noticed? a kit with liquid stools who's eating kibble can become in serious trouble in very short order so vetting might be the only answer Good luck ciao

She is 4 months old, I got her from petco. She has all of her shots. And I have no other ferrets.

Take a look here, which is it like? Or better yet can you post a picture. I know it may sound bit gross but if it's a bit loose it's not ideal, if it's really runny she is at risk of becoming dehydrated pretty quickly. Can you sort of pull up her scruff to make it stand up and see how quickly it goes back down when released? That might give us an idea of how dehydrated she is. In the mean time if she is eating okay I would letting her kibble soak for a while and try feeding that, she may not take it at first because it's a different texture. Just dab a bit on her mouth a few times to get her started. It's really important to get water into her.

Congratulations on your new baby. We call them Tummies with Teeth. They can eat alot. You don't want to let diarrhea go on for long. It dehydrates them and can cause other problems if it persists. Do you have a vet yet? Here is a link to our poop chart: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/2469/poop-chartHow long ago did she have her vaccine? It might be a reaction to the vaccination. You mentioned that she is eating Marshall's premium. That's not one of the better kibbles. As a Holistic Forum, naturally we would like to see her eating frankenprey, whole prey or even FDR. If that doesn't work for you, Here is a link to a chart that can help you find a better quality kibble: moredooks.herobo.com/
