I can tell he is hacking from the hair caught in his throat and he refuses to eat egg. I have multiple scratches because of this. It's so frustrating. I don't want him to have hairballs. I tried heating it up, mixing it with the food into a soup, but he doesn't seem to like it!

Use a syringe and feed it like a medicine. Most ferrets will eventually lick it off the syringe. I've lectured a couple of my guys....like it or not...you're going to eat it anyway ciao

You could try mixing the egg with some salmon oil, my guys gobble it up this way, otherwise most of them won't eat it plain.

Is this yolk only?-my abbey will not eat the white although annabelle will. are you finger feeding ---holding and dabbing? (of course warm)
The first time i gave my abbey egg itwas my breakfast--- egg over medium. I burst the egg with a spoon and let it fill up with yolk.
whatever method, don't give up----my baby does not like egg yet.
