I fed a teeny bit of warm egg. She wouldn't take it from the spoon so it was slow going from my fingertip. She started gagging 5 min later and it came up.
I put her in her bed to call the vet and she went right to the box and took another normal looking poop.
Called the vet and he was at lunch but I got asked to feed her some ferret lax. I don't have any but I told them I have pumpkin and salmon oil vaseline. Was told to water down the pumpkin, and wrap her up so gravity helps food down and syringe 1.5 teaspoons, then hold her upright like that for at least 20 minutes after.
It was rough going at first but we did it. Poor Kat. I rewrapped her 8 times and on the 9th she just went limp. Her mix stayed down though. I feel so badly for her. I held her for a long time after and she fell asleep.
Posting from my room watching her. She's totally zonked out but I want to know if she wakes up and vomits or not.
Watered down chicken baby food is next after another pumpkin dose. Assuming she keeps it down and poops still; vet said we can see if she's okay in a day.

Aww poor thing (and momma!) It's so scary when something is off with our kids and we don't know what is wrong. It sounds like your vet suggested a blockage protocol. I hope, if there's anything in Kat's tummy that shouldn't be there, the pumpkin/vaso will slide it right out! Hang in there! You're doing a great job!!!

Thanks for the help, it's no good having a sick ferret, no better way to feel helpless than with a sickie you've had for only 2 weeks! I emailed the poop pics and talked to the vet. He thinks it's regurgitation rather than actual vomiting because the pork stayed down (hair?) and very likely not a blockage with the two poops seen due to color and form. Since she's playing and not tooth grinding or having bloody stools it's hydration and chicken baby food time, unless that changes. If she's not better in 24 hours she'll see the doc. He seems to think diet transitioning and new home stress plus a lot of variety "at once" (his words) may have caught up with her.
She's kept the pumpkin/water down and is still fast asleep. More pumpkin at 4 followed by watered down chicken baby food. Gonna be a long night!

She ate her first forbidden object! 2 NORMAL poops too! Wow. I'm just....wow. I woke her up at 4 to eat her next watered down pumpkin syringe plus her watered down chicken baby food. It took a long time, and I had to hold her vertical against me for at least 20 minutes again. She was more feisty this time, biting at my hand and the shirt I had her basically swaddled in. I held her for about 30 min (my hands paid the price lol) then put her in the tub to see her poop and if she'd vomit or regurgitate or not. She pooped, again it looked normal just lighter in color. Probably pumpkin. I took her upstairs immediately after and stayed with her, she was bonkers again. Total spazzy kit play was back! No pukes, no gags. I gave her a teeny bit of pork slivers to see if she'd eat after an hour and a half and gobbled them up. It was such a change I went back to that turd and picked it apart. This is what I found. Needless to say I had two kids helping me go through the upstairs on our knees looking for anything after vacuuming again. I gave her a teaspoon of vaseline and will wake her up again later for the great turd search to be sure, but she's back!

Yeah it was super scary. I've just now realized that I'm starving, KatWatch 2015 distracted me from eating too long myself! Still gonna watch her closely but the appetite and attitude changes are great!

I'm so glad everything turned out OK. Wow, she didn't wait to break you in, did she? Two weeks and straight to potential blockage. What was is it that she ate -- ribbon? rubber band? I didn't say it at the time because it wasn't useful (beyond causing stress), but the first time Maisie ever let me hold her for more than 3 seconds was the night before her blockage surgery. It makes me a little paranoid: are you cuddling because you're trusting me more, or because you're feeling sick? I guess it's really touching that they find our presence comforting.

Yeah I was seriously making an effort to rein in the scared because I've barely had her! I think I was doing a better job of it before I found that thing! I totally agree on the cuddling thing, I thought it was weird that Kat was being so cool about being held when normally she's like "I'm busy, put me down!" She still played but it was more exploratory, after the poop of truth she was back to being on the hunt for toys. My best guess is one of those plastic things that are on the inside of dresses to hang on hangers easier. My daughter said she'd cut one off and even showed me the piece in the bathroom trashcan upstairs. I guess a piece didn't make it all the way there. So hopefully Kat is done and it was a freak moment of an accident. I saw a small poop in her cage that looked good, and she's still hyper. Woke her up to cram some more pumpkin in her, Ashley got the honors holding her for it and I gotta say my girl is great at it! It was so much easier to do even than when my husband holds her, Kat got it all in with no head shaking or freaking out. Yay poopwatch 2015 teamwork! Kat looks like "Ermagherd, why u do dis??" Ashley was trying not to crack up.

Thanks Fretki! She ate 2.5 ounces of pork in the evening/overnight and this morning I warmed some organs for her and she dug right in! Found some good poops in her box and she tried to rush the cage door to play so I'm very relieved

She's so pretty for such a little troublemaker. (and so is your daughter, but I don't know if she is a troublemaker, lol). I'm glad you dodged that bullet. The blockage protocol sounds so easy until you add a protesting ferret to the instructions. Very nice job and I'm glad she is okay.

Oh she's either the best or worst kind of trouble, a serious kid with mighty google muscles who usually researches anything I might say no to before bringing it up. I'm sure teens will be a super fun time! Kat is infatuated with her hair and tries to burrow through it any opportunity, she was allowed to after she got her pumpkin down. The hardest part was holding her upright after for at least 20 minutes when she was feeling better. While sick she was okay with it, but after the blockage poo the follow up pumpkin hold was her going from belly to shoulder rinse and repeat for 20 min. It kept her vertical at least The vaseline salmon oil mix is a genius idea I found here so she was okay with that, I have no idea what magic Ashley has to make her take a syringe of pumpkin so willingly but no complaints! Kat is still pooping normally and eating and playing, yay! She tried to hold out on organs yesterday after getting through an ounce probably due to hunger from the blockage day. So it's still a waiting game on those but I have to tell myself she won't let herself starve and give her plenty of opportunity to eat. She doesn't actively avoid liver or kidney anymore though, she used to dodge kidney the most but seems to be over that. Still not a favorite though. When I brought wingettes later she acted like someone finding water in the desert, such drama. Pork this morning so she's in heaven.

I threw out the last 2 pinkies before realizing Kat was having blockage issues (thought maybe new protein?) but now that's settled I bought her a 6 pack of fuzzies. Her first one today, she made VERY short work of it, just as the pinkies. She's into it too, lots of picking it up and shaking it by the head.
