Hi everybody! I love animals, and I have had a lot of pets, including dogs, lizards, gerbils, a snake, rats, hermit crabs, frogs, fish, numerous invertebrates, and now ferrets! I eventually aim to get into Cornell Veterinary School and become a vet (maybe an animal nutritionist, who can recommend raw diets!). Here is an introduction to some of the furry members of my family:
Charlie- This is my German Shepherd I rescued from a local shelter last year. He is about 3 years old, and I love him to pieces! He is very playful and sweet and sometimes his lips get caught in his teeth and we call it a "toothy grin" (see the second picture above.) I want to feed him a raw diet because even though he's on a "high quality" kibble, he still itches more than I'd like and I know raw is healthiest for him. Any advice on raw feeding dogs would be appreciated.
Riley- This is my Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. My family got her from a breeder when I was about five. She is super gentle but also super mischievous, she loooves tearing apart toilet paper and eating things off the floor. She is 11 years old now, and having been fed Science Diet all her life, her teeth are really horrible and I want to put her on a raw diet too (finally convinced my parents that Science Diet is junk! The vets prescribed it for her because she had urinary incontinence after her spay. Along with many other problems with the food, it isn't even for incontinence! Just urinary stones, which Riley doesn't have! ).
Pancake and Waffles- These were my last pair of rats (RIP), I had had two other pairs previously. We got them from a breeder in Reno. Pancake was always my fat, good-natured girl (she's the one wearing all the costumes.) Waffles was always the squirmy, playful one. They complemented each other beautifully, and I miss them very much. They both passed at almost 4 years old from cancer.
Now here are some pictures of my ferrets that really show how much they've changed after just a month of eating partial raw, and a month of eating full raw. If you want to know more about them, see my previous thread "PICTURES of My New Fuzzies!"

And finally, in my photography class we were assigned a project to recreate a famous movie poster. So with my dad's old coat, a half-asleep Sunny, and a whole lot of Photoshop, I made this:
Oh, and I mentioned falconry only very briefly in my past threads, so I doubt anyone noticed, but now it's official! I'm going to take the test a month from now to get my falconry license, and trap my red-tailed hawk in September! I wish falconry with ferrets was legal here, I think Sunny and Katie would enjoy chasing rabbits out of their burrows. Well, thanks for looking at all my pictures and reading my novel. Have a great day everybody!
