When I take Bella out for her feedings she will go get active at times for a little, or she will come out of her cage as I leave it open and my office is blocked off as I wouldn't want to lose them in my house. lol I have to discuss the weight issue with my vet because she has her at 0.7 lbs on her big scale and on my kitchen scale she is 1.7 lbs, so that alone will make a difference in the pred dosage she should be getting. I've also noticed that her poop is very stinky recently. She has been on the prednisone for 5.5 days. Here is a pic of Bella today Here is a pic of my shih-tzu, Brady. He hates it when the girls are out of their cage and they are hiding. lol So he is now laying between the 2 girls! lol So cute! lol

Is using an aspiration needle more accurate? My Vet said this is what he would do to test for it, I remember now that I asked about it several months ago.
Caillou's last BG reading just a couple days or a week ago was 76, but I have no idea hoe many points off my meter is, could be in the 80's. He shows no symptoms though.. gah
I'll try and get him implanted within the next couple weeks/month if Vibrac will keep to their word and actually send them out on time.
If his test for Lymphoma comes back positive, should I sti treat for Adrenal? (along with Pred of course for the lymphoma).. If it comes back negative, I'll have him implanted, so either way I'm going to try and get him a Des, would do Lupron but when I was looking for it for Jules I called 17 Vets within a 4 hour radius and none carried it but one, and he wouldn't ship it due to legal stuff, and nobody else would ship due to it needing to be frozen then defrosted or something, and making a trip further than 1 hour isn't a possibility due to my family (they believe it would be a giant burden, because the ferrets are a burden to them anyways they say, such support). So Des it is lol.
Cai didn't play for long tonight, he seemed pretty tired but I had just woken him up and started feeding him, them he got all upset because their is a hole in my wall from running wires and I covered it and he spent 20 mins trying to move the mini fridge, then gave up, poor fluffer, think his tummy is still hurting him a bit.
Should I give him his meds after he eats or before he eats? I gave them to him 2 hours before feeding him (had to thaw his soup) and he acted like his tummy hurt more, I was giving him pepsid, waiting 30 min and giving the other two then feeding him right after.

Aw Bella is adorable Them not getting her correct weight could be why the Pred isn't working well. Have you called your Vets office and told them?

It really depends on the meds but most are AFTER feeding.

thank you Julesalot! I am going to check her BG in the morning and see where it is at and if I'm not happy with the results I will call the vet. I will keep you posted.

bitbyter he's on Pepsid, Amoxicillian and Metronidazole, every 12 hours. I've been feeding him every 5-6 hours, today he ate 7 ounces of soup I'll feed him before giving his meds next time. I wasn't sure because though I've given Pepsid and Amoxi before I've never given all of them together and not for a GI bleed as bad his was, just ulcers from Pred.

Bellamia, let us know what her reading is, and what it was before also. Be sure to take it before breakfast/before she eats, don't fast her but just right before feeding her for most accurate reading.
