I carry on as normal for a week or so, as long as he's not getting any worse. If there isn't much improvement or the prolapse returns after a week or so then it's time to go asking for more testing to be done. Keep in mind that testing isn't just a drain on your bank balance but it is also stressful for our fuzzies.

Hi abbeytheferret6! Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope your little girls stool is better! Plese let me know (or I'll try to peak at your thread) how her re-check goes on Friday! Zekrom for the past week-10days has been having formed poops-no more diarrhea (yay!) but when he was having diarrhea/loose poops, a bacteria overload did come to mind. His (and my other 4) main diet has been chicken...just introduced pork and Zekrom finally went for the CGH (that's Zoey's favorite!) so I really hope he does not have an allergy The reason I wanted to get him on Lupron was because I am 99% sure he is adrenal. 3 different vets were *sure* he was NOT adrenal; just a bad case of rat tail but this summer his entire tail was bald, along with his hips, and started working it's way up his back-Just in time with the Des Implant back order So, for Zekrom's case, the lupron is to help his adrenal glands which *could* have started to enlarge his prostate-to cause straining to urinate-to cause a prolapse (trying to show my thought process)

Thank you RedSky! I thought that too-he has been to 3 different vets this year already, plus 2 trips just this past week (he is such a good boy-not 1 accident in his carrier) so he should have a break. Thankfully his prolapse has not come back since that 1 day last week and his urine flow/frequency is perfect! (yay!!!!!!!) I think (rather I know) I'll watch him and suspect anything/everything

Do you ever wonder if our furry families are testing us? See how far they can go and watch us go grey and pulling our hair out! Or do you think they just wonder why we are so closely watching them go to the toilet, eat, drink and how they move or don't move.

Haha RedSky, I do! I swear, some of the things these babies do-they do it to see how we react! I just told my husband that I HAVE to get some hair dye this weekend after all the stress we had with Zekrom last week! Ugh, the things we do for the ones we love

When we think about the costs of having pets we always factor in the basics eg food, toys, cage/beds along with vet bills but we don't factor in the requirements we need for having them such as hair dye and the extra food we eat when stressed out, then we need bigger clothes, then a gym membership to loose it all, then more hair dye, a new mattress as we blame the old one for not letting us sleep when actually it's all the stress from them. All while they are snuggled up in their beds, eating their gourmet food, playing with their 100s of toys or causing mayhem depending on their mood.
And yet we love them, would never part with them and will probably adopt more. I think we all have a problem...
