Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
This is more a hindsight thing... noting the differences since he's been getting treatment to how he acted before. Anyways, Twiggy & Rolo have always gotten a long really well, they wrestle and chase each other all the time and I let them because no one has ever drawn blood or really been hurt. I'd only have to listen out because sometimes Rolo would bite and hold and Twiggy would scream and scream and I'd literally have to scruff Rolo and stick my fingers in his mouth to pry him off of her. This was before he started losing fur so I just assumed he was a ferret and playing too rough.
So he got his des implant last week, and I haven't let them play because I didn't want Twiggy messing with it by accident, and over the past few months of Rolo getting Lupron treatment he's been on and off lethargic so I haven't noticed them playing that much.
However, today I saw them wrestling & playing, and this time when Rolo bit Twiggy and she yelped, he let her go immediately. He also seems to be more into the actual wrestling now rather than trying to bite & hold.
I guess I'm just wondering if that was the sexual aggression you guys talk about and see amongst ferrets? Rolo is a single so I wonder if having cats as his only outlet was the reason he used to bite & hold like that.
Anyway, In addition to this I just wanted to say that Rolo's tail has gotten fluffy again! He seems to be growing a more solid & healthier feeling coat every day & just seems to be fast approaching normal! I just hope this continues
Also, the vet said that it's a bit of a guess as to when he'll need to be implanted again - that the packaging says a year but its really more 6-9months. I know many of you say the same thing, I'm just wondering if there are signs you need to watch for to be able to tell its wearing off, or if you think its better just to implant at 6months and not wait for any signs.
