some of our ferrets just have a nose for rubber. Mogwai zeros in on anything rubber within seconds.
It must give off a smell that he loves.

Glad it helped @poncesmom They seem to be freaked out over the first try, and it could have been them feeling how worried/stressed you were about it and they got a little antsy too. Remember when mine were acting up a few weeks ago with the family situations we had? I believe they can feel what you feel, they sure are smart enough. Hopes and prayers and wishes that they pass it without problems. Now YOU will be able to smell rubber from miles away haha

Fingers crossed they are okay! Next time you can try mixing the pumpkin with a wee bit of olive oil and warming it slightly. I find it always goes down better like that. Also- depending on when they are last it might be more than four hours before they poop. Don't panic until the 5 1/2-6 hr mark

Ah, I just read this! It is a scary thing. I found a weird red poop one time that we still suspect was balloon. I was PMing poor Katt at 9ish at night with random ugly red looking poops. We had no idea who it might be so all three got the protocol. No Bueno! Never did figure out who it was. Guess the poop that was found was the one pushing it out.
Still no update in a while @pouncesmom what's goin on?? Sending positive thoughts.

Are they okay @poncesmom ? Let us know, you've always been here for us and we're here for you, through thick and thin and blockage protocol I second the oils, it's the only thing that would get Caillou and Juliet to eat it. Although I'd be screwed if I needed to do protocol now because I'm out, and it's expensive! Like $20 a bottle. lol. I hope the little dare devils are okay! Silly girls, they choose rubber over bones with that tasty bone marrow, they don't know what's good do they? Marcie has taught Caillou that rubber is tasty. Oh dear Lord. Stef you better be prepared to tape your remote to the ceiling and hope they can't it, mine go hunting for it like it's prairie dog.

@poncesmom I don't want to worry you but my initial thought was that ferrets are very tricky and will often get up to mischief and leave others to take the fall. Are you sure only Mika and Keller had access to the chewed item. I would be tempted to do blockage protocol on everyone if you aren't sure of that (I do know you haven't fully integrated yet because Roamy and Juliet cause Keller some concern still, so maybe you are sure it could only have been those two).
Hope you are just busy with general everyday things and the not posting updates is not because of any thing bad.
Am thinking of you all and hoping that this passes with no drama and all your wee ones are fine.

Thérèse last I knew she had Keller separated by a whole story. She has Roamy and Juliet on one story of her house and Wynston, Mika and Keller on another. I am not sure why she didn't suspect Wynston of possibly getting into the rubber also. Maybe he was with the other two at the time? She also mentioned in her initial post that the two girls were found with the rubber near them, so maybe that's why. I am certainly worried though that she hasn't been on again...

So far, so good. Nice big orange poops with no sign of any more pieces. We have to go out and about today, so I'm leaving the girls downstairs, in case there is more of that rubber that I haven't found. I don't want the other three to find it. Thanks everyone for all your kind words.
