Well, I take that back, as far as it not looking like ibd, because there are so many possible combinations of clinical signs. Right now the big ones are lethargy and dehydration, but I have seen her drinking the last couple days and she has had pretty normal poops for over a week, tho the last few were smaller. We've been following protocol for reducing pred, but I am going the have to call the vet in the morning if she's not better. One other thing, it seems like her liver is a bit larger and easier to palpate, but I can't feel any growths on the anterior side, nor the posterior where I can palpate. Maybe it's just me, or her being so limp she's not fighting at all. The last time she was like this, it didn't seem so bad. Has anyone had a fert that reacted to turkey? If you've had one that was sensitive to chicken, could you please post what kind of clinical signs you saw and any other experiences?

I haven't had a ferret with insulinoma yet but Wilma has E.E which is a type of IBD. She was originally on a medium dose of pred every day and now after a long weaning process she is down to a small dose every 5 days (which will probably be for life).

We're giving her 5cc carnivore care every 1 1/2 hrs. She takes it ok, but hardly moves otherwise. She was laying in her waste this morning. Whenever I've seen that before, it was the last day.

I hoped to find her a little better this morning. I spent alot of time with Ponce on my lap, in his final days. He couldn't make it to the potty either. I would wash him off and then sit with him on my lap and take a warm wash cloth and gently stroke him. This is like his Mother giving him love and grooming and seems to relax and comfort him. You will be in my thoughts today, and I'm not ready to say Gentle Journey to Alice yet. I will be wishing and hoping for her recovery. You and Dar are in my Thoughts.

Jules, we don't think it is insulinoma. Her last BG was 82. Her poops appear decent, but a little watery because she's only getting syringe fed, so it's not IBD either. Either way, she's on pred, but it could be a malignancy. She crashed like this last month, and took almost 2 weeks to recover, but she never was so weak she couldn't get out of the litter box.

My baby girl Jezebelle has had IBD all her life. Our vets have put her on cycles of pred. Recently we've removed all poultry and her poops are firmer. She eats commercial raw rabbit, lamb, and venison.
The constant loose stools take such a toll on my angel.
After reading articles on Mustelamania I've added wysong pre and probiotics too.
She is on pred again because of another flare up.
I used to give her as many treats as she wanted to try to keep weight on her but I'm being strict and only giving healthy treats.
She is NOT happy about that and gives constant tap taps and stink eye.

Oh, I wonder what's wrong then? Could it be lymphoma? My Adrian had it and wasn't diagnosed until the day he died, he had internal bleeding. But Adrian was always really lethargic. I'm so sorry, I can't imagine how much harder it makes it to not know.

I'm so sorry It really sounds like something else is going on with her other than IBD. Does she show any signs of jaundice? Yellow skin or whites of her eyes?

She is still taking syringed food (a/d thinned with water) and she reacts to being touched. No dark poops like organs are shutting down.

I'd get her into the vet if you can It's never good when they are lethargic like that.
