Despite the fact it is diarrhea, it is a perfectly normal heart poop. Both heart, liver, and many organs are VERY bloody and so they will produce these dark, loose, stools. Perfectly normal! That is also why it is important to do a BI meal after, so these poops are hardened up and not consistent. Now a poop like that AFTER a BI meal can be a sign of bad, but normal for heart. Get her to eat the rabbit and get her stools normalized again and you can try duck again. It is really important that you don't mix in these other proteins, especially ones that we haven't trialed yet. It can mess up her system and make it more difficult to know if it was a trial protein she is reacting to or just something she had previously.

Glad they liked the rabbit better! lil buggers. And I am not too familiar with rabbit, but the type of rabbit or even age might play a part in the hardness of the bone. Good to know! haha

Yeah, they didn't eat it well did they. Mine go through stages (when I haven't' been to the store and have all this leftover chicken) if I feed it for a few days they stop eating it for MONTHS. brats. Look forward to hearing how activity levels and poops look.

Ok. well chicken is out and I really hate that. not one formed stool---just a bunch of little black spots here and there. I locked abbey up in the older cage last night and annabelle had access to the bedroom by herself, so all pooh was hers. Giving rabbit to calm down tummy this morn. There goes a good source of taurine---thigh and heart(twitch)
So, a few meals on rabbit and i will start cgh.
Maybe, sometime after christmas we can try to get her to eat mice.
