I kind of take mine everywhere... Marco likes to look out the window in the car and they love meeting people and ferret friendly animals. I went to the pet store and Marco was wrestling with this little bitty puppy for like 30 minutes. It was so cute!

I would love to take mine out more, for walks and to play in the yard, but its so bloody hot here, Im afraid their little paws will burn. And even with watering the yard its still crunchy and not soft for wallering in. {Please excuse my country slang, lol} I have no idea what our laws are around here for ferrets and wouldn't even know where to ask to find out. Our animal control isn't exactly the best place to ask. I may look into one of those little pet strollers. Does anyone here use them? If so, what kind?

Aleshia do you live in Texas? I take mine out as the sun's going down so its a bit cooler I sure do! Central Texas area. Its been in the triple digits here with the heat index. I know evenings are better, but with work and kids and dinner and homework, it isnt the best time. I just wish fall would hurry up and get here.

I bet it is hot! I'm in Northeast Tennessee, it's been in the high 70's low 80's for the past few weeks but according to the weather it's suppose to cool down next month. I'm not a hot weather person, I'm more of a roll around in the snow type so anything above 75 is hot to me! haha I actually just ordered a messenger bag pet carrier a few minutes ago. Should get it on Thursday or Friday I think. I'll post pics/review when I get it and use it.

It would be nice if someone put a little 'how to' or 'tips and tricks' on taking your ferret out and about. I'm just not sure I get the logistics of it. Mine get squirmy when I carry them and are able to squirm out of their harness unless I loop it around a collar as well, then they just flop around and won't walk. I once took them for a car ride and they pooped in the carrier even though I kept putting them in a litter box I had taken with me. Have not really attempted it since then other than for vet visits.

Opal and Laney are too crazy but Ezra absolutely loves going anywhere. Home Depot, Subway, Olive Garden, Walmart, Petco, the Library, my loan office for a loan I have, just to name a few. He's like my sidekick

Alyse, how do you keep her under control when you go to Olive Garden or somewhere that you're sitting down? Is she just calm? The only calm fert I've had that was calm was my boy Adrian, but he had Lymphoma and we didn't know, we just thought he was laid back and the Vet just thought he was old. But he would lay in your lap for hours, unlike my two now who will let me hold them for a whole 6 seconds... haha

How do you get them in a restaurant? I took joe into sams club in a backpack carrier after a vet visit and they told me he had to stay outside. Luckily it was dark out so i could leave him in the car. We have outdoor seating at some restaurants but that doesnt guarantee pets are allowed Btw dont waste your money on a backpack carrier (marsalls). They're too small and fuzzies hate it

I take mine for walks around my street and have recently started taking them further afield. We visited the local park and the local pond last week. I have to slings for the fuzzies and am trying to get them used to them at the moment. I got them from amazon.

Hi folks - I took Haggis with me to the bank last week he walked part of the way there then he rode on my shoulder or in my arms. Walked into the bank with him on my shoulder and the teller looked but did not say anything. I cashed a cheque and headed home Haggis walked about 2thirds of the way home. When he got within the vicinity of his usual walking route he knew where he was and ran at the end of the lead all the way home
