Hello all.
Advice regarding housing ferrets indoors, I will try and keep this brief but for general context we are a multi species household of older rescues so free roaming 24/7 isn't a option.
I currently have three hobs living in a SAVIC Royal Suit in the hallway, currently split into two with one male (Sausage living on the top level alone whilst he recovered from a operation (amputation of a toe) due to bone cancer.
Yesterday I rescued a small Jill, she is absolutely tiny possible underfed as a kit but also irresponsible bred from very young so perhaps under developed either way she is a darling. Currently living on her own whilst recovering from her spay and will likely be joined by one of her kits in 4-6 weeks.
The little Jill came to me in a Hamberley Single Metal Large Cage which is essentially a large bird cage. Measures 81x54x157cm
Do you think its worth adapting this cage for two ferrets or should I just pass it on a bird cage and upgrade.
In terms of the space available we have upwards of six foot but can't go any wider and the current depth perfectly first the alcove in my living room which I would like to make use of.
If it is of any help I am based in the Uk.
I have been considering the Liberta Happy House.

My guys are free range and I'm in Australia, so am not going to be much help on the cage...just wanted to give you a heads up that with a tiny girl you will need to be conscious of the gaps between the bars...they can plasticine themselves through very small gaps
