I know they all have different intelligence levels, but every now and then they really surprise me.
Mogwai always begs for meat whenever I am in the kitchen. since I am at the meat sliver stage in the switch over of Hammie, Cassia, and Koufos, I always have meat either in sliver stage or I am in the process of cutting it up. He always seems to smell it and beg on his hing legs for it. Like all ferrets his will take it and run off to a safe place to eat it then come back for more, I know they are stashing when they get a piece they run off and come back for more immediately. Then I tell them No your stashing you don't get anymore.
Today Mogwai was coming back over and over. I though man he is eating quite a bit, but he was taking about 5 mins before coming back so I thought he must be eating it. Well after the tenth piece I followed him without him noticing he went into his little ferret tent, set the meat in the corner then just laid there for about 4 mins, then he got up and saw me watching him, the jig was up he knew he was busted. He immediately picked up the meat and ran to his hidey hole, I look in and there is about 6 pieces of chicken in a pile in the corner.
What are some of the amazingly intelligent things your ferrets have done that have surprised you

I don't know about amazingly intelligent but one day both of mine (back when I only had two) wanted to get up to a spot that they couldn't jump to and they teamed up and dragged a cardboard box from one side of the room to the other so they could hop on it, then hop to where they wanted. They're great problem solvers *sometimes*.

Yes, very good problem solvers.
When I first got my ferrets. 2 of mine teamed up to open up the drawer underneath my stove, There was over 30 lbs of pans in there. One was on one side and one on the other and they took turns pulling inch by inch until they got it open enough to get in. It was scary because there was a hole in the drywall back there and they could have easily got into the walls

If you keep in mind ferrets have the problem solving capabilities of two year olds you won't be far off
