I took Calli and Miko in for their yearlies and shots last week. The vet looked at Calli's vulva folds and was concerned because they were sticking out a bit- he said to watch them over the next month if they get more red/pronounced. He said "I wouldnt be surprised if this was adrenal". Im very worried for my baby, shes only about 3 but Im a little skeptical of the diagnosis- she wasnt feeling 100% the week prior to the visit, having a bout of diarrhea, which was possibly due to the new bag of food I opened. She hasnt been showing any other adrenal symptoms whatsoever, hasnt had any hair loss apart from normal Spring shedding and has been just as perky as usual. She hasnt been drinking more water. Also, this is the first time this vet has given her a look over- is it possible that her vulva folds just stick out normally? I never noticed. I guess Im asking, for the more experienced ferrents, do you think the vet was right that its likely adrenal, or should I not be too worried?

Some do, some don't. And yes that could also be the only symptom. Age wise she is definitely at the average age.

I wouldn't worry too much but would keep a close eye for any changes as your vet suggested. If it is adrenal from the way he's phrased it, it is very early stages. so while this may be the only symptom, it sounds like the change is minimal, if it becomes more pronounced then you will be more prepared to notice. He may just have given you a heads up so you can spot the changes that may come. With adrenal I definitely think the earlier you notice the better chances your ferret has.
Best of luck and here's hoping it was nothing
