he only eats the slivers when they have been soaked in soup. I make the soup with game hen. I can try mixing some game hen meat in the next meal to see if he likes that better.
I will be getting unemployment, and should be getting my mortgage paid by an unemployment assistance program for up to a year. My GF works only part time so she does not bring home that much. In fact My unemployment check will still be more than she makes. I now know why so many people prefer to stay on unemployment instead of working. Not me though, I would rather be working, I feel weird not having a job and it bugs me.
They at least gave me a big fat severance check, just going to hold onto that in case I need to relocate, preferably out of ferret hating California. My job was the only reason I stayed here.

At least you got severance. That certainly helps. Hopefully your next job won't include such a long commute.
As for Koufos, yes I'd definitely try matching the proteins in the soup and the slivers to see if that works better for him.

Sorry to keep bugging you as I know you have other things on your mind but do you have an update for me on how they are progressing?

Yes I have all the amounts they have eaten the past few day. I still am keeping with the routine, just find it hard to sit in front of the computer and do anything but job searches.
I will get them posted up this morning.
I have not switched the soup to the same proteins yet (trying to used up what was already made up first) I am now out of beef and I have thawed a games hen to cut up and put into tonight's meal.

I also need to know what they are eating, not just the amounts.

If they are eating very little soup now we really need to push them to get them on solids so that their menu is balanced. We are in a transitional stage here and can't keep them on this for a long time. Currently their organ content is low because the amount of soup is low so we need to focus on progress.

I know. they get heart and liver slivers mixed into their soup 2 times a week though, But I know what you mean I need to get them eating the meat and organs by themselves.
Koufos is still holding out even with switching to the same protein meat and soup. He is really being stubborn. Last night we skipped a feeding trying to make him hungry enough to give him just straight chicken meat at first, then we dipped in a little soup which he proceeded to just lick off.
Cassia is eating poultry, rabbit and pork. Today she was chewing on some chicken heart and gizzard. Still can't get her eating liver straight though.

OK that sounds a lot better. Just make sure when you record the amounts they are eating, you record the meat content / types as well. I need to know that or I start to worry. I'll pick the brains of some of the other admins / mentors as to other strategies we can use with Koufos.

I have been offering koufos chicken meat prior to giving him the soup. each day he will spend a little more time on it. He still get frustrated and stops though. Not sure If i should let him get hungry enough to eat more of it or not.
Right now the only way to get either of them to eat heart or liver is to put it in the liquid soup (already in the recipe) and to give it to them in sliver form mixed in the soup. They will not eat straight heart or liver. This is where I think I need to work on. Since now I know if hungry enough they will both at least eat chicken.

try the mandolin method on the heart and liver. Freeze them and slice super thing. Put on their meat and when it thaws it created almost a heart / liver coating. Alternatively you can dice it really fine so they cannot avoid it.

I have tried that. They avoid the meat like I poisoned it.
