That's just what happened to Booboo, and why we're trying to avoid surgery.

We tried the coloidal silver for 2 months, 2-3/day, to no avail. The tumor had been pretty stable, but it appears to be slowly growing again now. It's not actually any bigger, just in a waxing phase. So we decided to look into having it excised. I called up the vet office. The vet who saw her originally has been at that office since I've had ferrets. "She's no longer with us." No explanation. That's the second time that's happened to me. And the other exotic vet at that office, who I like just as much and is good with ferrets, is out of the country for 2 more weeks. Figures. So I guess we can wait 2 more weeks. As for an update, our Rosa is doing great. She now actually asks to be picked up sometimes, and plays with the others, but still has her personal spaz moments, dancing around by herself and baring her teeth to imagined rivals. I also now believe that a lot of her screeching is actually her version of speaking to the others when she wants something.

Glad Rosa's settling in, in her own way and hope the ear can be resolved

I couldn't decide to post this under Rosa or turtles:
Today I came up with a new name for our little piece of paradise. My best man calls it the Lake House, due to being surrounded by ponds, but today I had an epiphany that wouldn't have even fit before February: The Pond-a-Rosa Haha

We've scheduled surgery for July 1 to remove the growth on her ear. The vet said that she'll need general anesthesia, which, to us, is the biggest worry. But she seems healthy otherwise, so she should be fine. She's put on a little weight and filled out some, and she feels solid.

Will keep you and Rosa in my thoughts. I know that while this is considered a minor procedure, with your past experience with BooBoo you will be understandably stressing more than the average ferrent. Sending good vibes that all goes well on the 1st and Rosa is soon behaving like nothing happened

Thought I'd post a couple pix of Rosa's ear as it is a couple days befor she has it removed on Tues, the 1st. Today she gave me a face full of kisses like few ferrets have done. She's doing so much better now and we hope that removing her tumor will allow her to be herself without that distraction and discomfort.

Except for the ear she is looking great, her coat is so white and beautiful.
You are still in my thoughts and hoping things go smoothly on the 1st

Talked to vet office. She's ok and wants out of the cage, lol. I'm soooooo relieved. I'll post pics of her ear, which I'm hoping was notched and not completely removed.
