Hi, my guys have been having very soft poops since switching to the new formula, no structure to it at all other than being grainy :/ What are the signs of IBD? Their poop has been like this for over a month now and Im not sure what to do. I dont want to have an expensive vet visit if its an easy fix I can do at home. Any advice?

UPS delivered my complimentary bag of Wysong's newest NEW reformulation "prototype" this morning. This is the newer prototype formula that Wysong went back to the drawing board on, to replace the previous new formula that reportedly was causing diarrhea problems. It is supposed to be closer to the original forumla.
However, I haven't opened the box yet as I was on my way out to work, so haven't had a chance to look at the ingredients list, but I'll try to post them later tonight.

Here it is!
Wysong's newest "prototype" formula for Ferret Epigen 90, the version which is supposed to be closer to the original that was replaced in February.

How much feeding and testing can have been done? didn't you only receive your prototype a few days ago?
Also I'm guessing not all those who had problems complained...some probably don't know it's the food and their vets are trying to figure out the problem and some just don't complain, they just switched foods! Wonder how long the revamped but problem formula (ie. not the even newer one) will stay on the shelves until it is removed because of it's problems and people either changing completely or going to the new diet one?
Just my musings

They obviously didn't do any real testing on how the chagr would affect ferrets or they'd have realized about the diarrhea long before it was released to the public.

More musings...
also by leaving it on the shelf and not put a warning on the packet aren't they allowing owners to reasonably claim back any vet costs for those who have bought it after this point when they know significant (although not all) numbers of ferrets have a problem with the food, significant enough numbers that they reformulated the food?
