Sweet and innocent. Only time is when she sleeps. Much as I love her, Rosa is the closest thing we have to a terrorist ferret. Even when we play in the starch peanuts, she nips my arms.

It's been a while since I updated y'all on the ferret you helped bring into our lives. Rosa Is getting better all the time. Conflicts with others are now pretty uncommon, and as likely to be initiated by others as Rosa. We fell that at this point it's mostly not fighting but play, as it has taken this long for Rosa to learn to play with others. The conflicts that do occur are typical ferret behavior like arguing over a bed. There's no more vicious, fighting to the death-needing to be separated. It is soooo gratifying to watch her playing. She will even come up to me wanting to be held, laying my arms without biting. (She has the sharpest teeth ever). It doesn't take a lot of coaxing to get kisses, but it's still not every day. She has an amazing full fluffy coat. She has only gained a couple ounces since she came home, but her coat is so thick that it's easy to confuse her with Pandy from behind, and Pandy has a full pound on her. So it's taken 10 months to really settle, but Rosa is now officially one of the gang. Kisses to all of my fans!!

I posted on another thread and was going to post here about how Rosa has been so much better about NOT biting. She hadn't even nipped me in a couple weeks and responds to NO BITE! but today, after she had given m :Pe some serious nose kisses, I held her for a couple seconds too long and... 2 steps forward and one back Had her outside for a photo shoot today. She's really not thrilled with the outdoors, but she hasn't really been out since she got here.

We kinda missed Rosa's anniversary Feb 22. She continues to thrive and seems to be good buddies with Abita and Lola. Lola is like the pesky little sister to everyone. She loves to play and Rosa is usually happy to oblige. She's doing really well with not biting, and will come to me when I call her. If she starts to nip I just have to say NO and she recovers her composure and backs off. She still gives kisses regularly. She hasn't had any serious disagreements with any of the others in months. Her winter coat is absolutely beautiful. I don't know if those pics do it justice. A couple I took when she helped unpack some dishes. In this one she's sleeping with Abita. It was taken a while back and they've both since lost the yellow streak.

They do look beautiful-----as for the yellow streak, my Abbey has a slight yellow streak on her. Do all whitish ferrets get them?

Most likely. It's probably caused by hormones and skin oils. Ours get occasional baths, because we're lucky enough to live where fleas are active 11 months a year.
