Awesome graph from above article. Keep in mind that that study is on an ESTABLISHED population (New Zealand has the world's largest feral ferret population) for Ferrets. Mustela Furo - the same species as the domestic ferret. These are not polecats, they are feral Ferrets. No one is giving them kibble, and the population is doing So well that New Zealand has a bit of a problem with the ferret population to my knowledge. Attachments:

I believe that the ferrets in New Zealand are Polecat hybrids.

When I try to open I get an error telling me that "This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit." Any ideas on how to access the article?
Alternatively a higher res image of that graph would be great. I can't read the categories of the columns.

I can't download the file either, it says the same thing as Megan. Would you be able send it to me in an email or something Huricanekatt?

I'll have to get katt to forward it to me so I can put it in dropbox. Thanks for letting us know. Now that we've "upgraded" the forum we no longer have unlimited attachment space :/

Weird that they're happily surviving out there, when we're told that ferrets can't survive without humans.

That's because these ones were able to hybridize with wild weasels over the years. It's the only place they've ever successfully done this.
