I found a very, very small piece of rubber in her poop. So far so good.

You disappeared from Skype so I'll post here. If it is the texture of headphone covers I bet she won't have much trouble at all passing it. Especially with the Vaseline and Pumpkin you gave her. Just keep an eye out for unusually frantic behavior, running around in/out of litter box, "going potty" without anything coming out, and digging/scratching her face, and of course gagging and vomiting. I have a feeling she will be just fine. You reacted quickly and took the right steps, and it sounds like it is at least partly chewed up. Headphone rubber is nice and soft and supple so if it was similar to that then ot should slide through her system fairly smoothly providing she didn't eat a ton of it. Not like erasers and such that are much less flexible and giving. I know how absolutely terrifying this is. :,( You guys are in my thoughts! *hugs* Please keep us posted!

Just keep pushing the pumpkin and lax until you are sure it is all out. Good thoughts for Pixie, imp that she is!

I recommend isolating Pixies for a couple of days so you know what passes through her. Keep that pumpkin and vaseline going through her. When you taper off on the lubricants, watch her like a hawk to make sure her poops are returning to normal in size, texture and frequency. Fingers and toes crossed that this a will "pass" (pun intended) and you will have a very uneventful experience. BYW, yesterday, my husband's earphone rubber piece got lost in our bedroom, so I will tearing the room apart before the brats go in there for their daily romp through the upstairs. At least I KNOW the area where the rubber piece was lost - my husband listens to books on tape in bed since he has trouble sleeping. He tosses the head phones on the floor. So... the ear thing will be somewhere in the bed , on the floor, under the bed, etc Even the THOUGHT that there's a piece of rubber that needs to be located makes me paranoid. -jennifer

Just keep a close eye on her, and yes that is much easier to do if she is isolated. And Jennifer I agree. If Shane or I lose a pencil, or a rubber band, or anything they could get their teeth on, the ferrets go up immediately into their cages, and we frantically begin tearing the room apart piece by piece until it is found. The ferrets - Koda especially - do NOT come out until we find it. Period. It is all of the little things you don't notice you lose that scare me the most! :S How is she doing?

2 more bright orange mushy poops with nothing in them. She's acting perfectly normal. I'm going to dose her again.
How much longer should I dose pumpkin and vas?

If she is not showing any signs of trouble, I would take it easy. Lay back on the Vaseline a little, and just keep giving her a little extra pumpkin mixed in with her food and continue to monitor her for a day or two.

;D I bet she is loving it too. She's like "Hey Trixie Dixie look at what I can do! I have Super Mind Powers and can control Mommy!" T&D: "Nuh uh! Prove it!" Pixie: "Oh yeah?! Watch THIS!" *coughhackcough* dookdook *sad eyes at mommy* Jackie: OMG *looking frantically for rubber, petting Pixie, giving Pixie treats, scrambling around litter box and cage and bedroom in an entertainingly frantic manner* T&D: "ooooooooo you DO have Super Mind Powers!" Pixie: *smug look* "Toldya So!" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

LMAO too funny! Thanks, I needed that. She does have mind control powers, and she uses them well I slept horribly and I know I'm not fully in the clear yet, but I'm feeling positive now. She's eating some lunch now (chicken chunks) and has spent about a good hour playing with her sisters, so she's feeling okay for now. I'm going to keep an eye on her though. I also have to restrict them to the ferret room, which is really bare but I know it's safe while I search the other rooms for rubber and other bad stuff.

Sonny pooped out a large piece of rubber two to three days after he swallowed it. I was beginning to doubt that he ate it at all. So is give her the vaseline and pumpkin for a few days.

A healing candle is lit for the little rubber chewing minx. They do love to scare the crap out of their ferrants. It's to keep us on our toes and not let us get complacent and develop overinflated egos. Just when we think we're comfortable and know everything there is to know about their care....they just have to pull some kind of stunt to make humble us. Fingers and toes are crossed that all will pass well ciao
