I know must people on here are from the other side of the 'big water' but i'm sure i'm not the only UK ferret friend on this site. I don't have ferrets at the moment but i am doing all the reasearch i can, exhusting every possible subject i can think of to make sure that when I do get them i know as much as possible.
This question is asking any UK ferret owners who whole prey feed where do you get your mice, rats, rabbit or birds from?
I have found looked online and checked many, many reptile feeder breeders and found the best price for feeder animals is frozendirect.com. Has anyone used this site? Are they any good? Where do you go to get them?

fuzziewozzie- she would like to know approx where you are in the UK. It makes it easier for her to know who's closest. I understand there are a few, but in pretty diverse areas.

Hi Fuzzywozzie have you checked out the local markets in your area ? ( the old fashioned meat markets often at outdoor markets) meats and scraps can be bought cheaply at the end of the day along with bags of salmon pieces ( small off cuts ) sure it may mean getting up early in the morning ( some begin as early as 6 am but its one way of picking up a month or more of assorted meats a heck of a lot cheaper than wholesale prices ! I know a lot of these old fashioned markets carry all sorts of birds rabbits hare along side venison and other cuts hope this helps take care bye for now crazy lady p.s and dont forget you can barter !!!

Thanks for that! It's another place that i just had not thought of (the actual meat markets) I get bones and scraps of meat for my dog from my local butcher for next to nothing but he only stocks the usual meat stuff anything else would be quite expensive. I really like the idea of being able to give as much variety as possible.

If any UK ferret owners on this site might be intrested to hear about a whole food supplier its called honeybrookfarm.com/#they advertise for raptors and reptiles. Delivery is £14.10 for an overnight courier for a box up to 25KG. They sell chicks, quail and grown on chickens, as well as mice and rats for better prices than any other UK site. This site was recommended to me by a reptile breeder. Just sharing as reasonable prices are difficult to find in the UK for whole prey.

I stumbled across this in the Raw Feeding UK Facebook Group, if that helps. It's a pretty exhaustive list though, might be useful to someone.
