Hey guys I am after my "Raw Feeder" title!!
My guys are fed on the following diet:
Chicken/Turkey/Beef & Kangaroo mince Chicken necks/wing tips Chicken breast/thighs Kangaroo steaks/fillets Beef/Veal strips Lamb & Pork offcuts Lambs hearts & fries
My guys are fed approximatly 10% of their body weight, jills are fed 100grams/day and hobs fed 150grams/day!
I have tried many many times to get my guys to eat things like pinkies/violets or day old chicks and they just wont have a bar of them and with the rediculous prices I have kind of given up on spending them money and them going yucky and throwing them out!

You want to feed them violets? I hate that when violets wilt and spoil! Dad blasted auto correct and virtual keyboards! Sent from my A100 using proboards

I'm guessing that the auto correct also attacked the line....lamb heart and "fries" unless I'm missing something . I'm not sure that "french fries" are a good nutritional part of a ferrets diet ;D Now, there may be a language difference here too....so if you wouldn't mind explaining the fries....what are the violets??? Enquiring minds would love to know ;D You're guys have a good mix or variety of proteins. You don't need to feed prey if they won't eat it. You're right it's really expensive to just throw this out. Could you possibly give us a sample of a week's menu? You know.... Monday.... wings, chicken breast Tues...organ meats with beef mince That type of thing. It gives us a chance to analyse content and ratios ciao ciao

Violets are baby mice but older than pinkys. Pinkys are 2 days old where as violets are I think 5 days old. I cant remember to be honest, its been that long since I bought them!
I don't do up Mon-Sun packs. They just get a variety of the following each day. Eg one day the 3 different businesses (400gram, 250gram & 250gram bags) will get chicken mince, beef pieces and necks. The next day they may get roo mince, chicken thighs and wing tips. Its always mixed into bags and different days they get different stiffness depends what mumma makes lol

I could guess what violets were and I knew what fries were. It's actually the only organ I eat. A lambs fry and gravy roll from a greasy take away. Course there's always someone who asks if you know what lambs fry is. Those that don't, usually spit it out when told but I figure I liked it before I knew and it tastes the same after I knew.

I have been wondering for a while now, how does one get their Raw and Whole Prey Feeder Title. My group eats all raw and whole prey. Mice, rats, pork, chicken, turkey, beef, hearts, liver, kidney. They eat all whole meats, no mince or freeze dried. They started on raw a year ago and have not had any kibble since they started.

If you could post a weekly menu(just approximately what they'd get) then definitely! The reason for this is so anyone who is new to raw feeding, or anyone browsing the forum, understands just how important balance in their diet really is. It's not that I believe YOU don't understand it, but for others.

I don't have a strick schedule, but here is an idea of what a typical week might look like for my crew. I just keep some variety on hand and don't really write anythng down. I just make sure I rotate through each week. If I have somethign else I may substitute in Bear meat, dear meat, duck, lamb. As long as they are getting their organs, heart, and bone, I don't worry too much about which meats are fed when.
Mon AM = Mice Mon PM = Pork Heart and Chicken Wings Tues AM = Mice Tues PM = Liver and Rats Wed AM = Mice Wed PM = Beef Heart Thurs AM = Mice Thurs PM = Chicken Drums or Thighs Friday AM = Chicken Gizards and Hearts Friday PM = Rats Sat AM = Mice Sat PM = Chicken, Turkey or Pork (boneless) Sun AM = Mice Sun PM = Kidney and Heart
