The day finally came for me to say goodbye to my sweet little Cranberry. Her meds were no longer keeping her symptoms at bay, and I couldn't bear to see her go any longer, so today she fell asleep in my arms for the last time. I had her less than a year, and she came to me (unknowingly) terminal, but I cared so much for her, gained so much from having known her, and she had me wrapped around her little paws.... Since her diagnosis in May she only ate soupies (hand fed of course). In her last few hours she got to have ice cream - which she thoroughly enjoyed. My skin kids cried, loved on her, made her cards and pictures last night, knowing that when they got home from school today, there would be one less ferret in the house.
So, the world is a little more somber today, and the bridge has one more perfect little DEW dooking happily and no longer in pain. Although my heart and eyes weep - my mind knows she is healthy again, and in a better place.

I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose a furbaby so soon. The six-eight year average seems too short, less than one year is like a blink. You were an amazing parent to Cranberry, and you were both undoubtedly blessed in the short time you were together. D.I.P Cranberry

Oh no. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so sad that the story is almost identical to the passing of my Albion too, he went on 3 three years ago today. I only had him in my life for 4 months.
DIP Cranberry!

DIP Cranberry Fly high and may you dook and run and hop freely at the Bridge! Your words were beautiful, mauserhaus, they really showed how much you cared for her.

Another shooting star, shines brightly....a candle is lit to guide wee paws on their journey. Oh, little Cranberry....you so needed your heartkey and you found it with this family who loved you so much. You are so proud of your little key, you little thief of hearts but those keys come with a cost to our little heart thieves too....for a part of them stays behind too. They become the dancing leaves and the whispering wind that stir our memories and dance in our dreams. Our little ones never really leave us, and when the time is right, they will be waiting for us to make the journey together. Gentle journey little one, until that day, journey safe ciao
