Heartworm can be very serious in ferrets. Due to their small size, one worm is all it takes to cause serious problems. Unfourtunately at this time there is no NATURAL heartworm preventative that is 100% effective against preventing heartworm. During the summer months, its important to have a plan for mosquitos and heartworm. Even if your pet remains inside, they are still at risk for this deadly disease.
