I'm worried that my ferret may have ringworm. I have two ferrets that live together in a ferret nation cage they have been together for 3 yrs and I've had no problem with them fighting or anything so I'm not sure what's going on. Princess was losing her hair a while back but it grew back and she hasn't had any issues other than this skin problem. If anyone has any information please let me know.

Can you give some more information? What makes you think your ferret has ringworm?

I'm really new at this site sorry I tried to put pictures I guess it didn't work ill try again. I thought that she had adrenal disease at first but then she got her hair back... I pray that she doesn't but it seems to me that she may have it I'm going to take her to the vet next month but if she does have it what do you do for that or is there anything you can do?

That looks like a mast cell tumor. I usually just put some neosporin on the mast cell tumor. Within a few days it's gone. Mast cell tumor do come back, in different area. I usually catch them before they get out of hand.

Ferrets with adrenal disease can still grow their hair back seasonally. I would still watch for that.
And definitely looks like a mast cell.

I agree with the others it looks like a mast cell ring worm is contagious to humans so you can catch it normally if a ferret has ring worm the human shows signs first ! take care bye for now Bev

Worms are very rare in ferrets. I'd take your ferret into the vet's for testing for adrenal disease. You can do a 3 month trial of lupron rather than a blood panel, but if your ferret has no other symptoms it'd be hard to tell if it was doing anything.

Also, if you can get some reishi mushroom capsules and give her 1/4 capsule daily in a soup or something it will help that mast cell tremendously.

First....ring worm is not a worm...ring worm is a fungal infection. A highly contagious fungal infection. www.medicinenet.com/ringworm/article.htmSo true a ferret is often got a higher than normal capacity to fight off internal parasites (worms) because of their faster digestion but this has nothing to do with digestion. The word ring comes from the ring mark that it occasionally makes on the skin. It is possible to have ringworm and not have the tell tale marks, though itching will be present ciao
