I want another fuzzy! At first I wanted a baby so I looked up breeders around The Illinois/Wisconsin area (which is how I got here) But I couldn't find any around here. So I'm completely fine with getting an older one. The problem is after 4 months of looking I still haven't been able to find one I refuse just to buy one from the pet store when I know I can find one who needs a home somewhere else. Also my boyfriend doesn't want to pay pet store prices, since he has always gotten his from his aunt who works at one of the shelters and can find me one in need of a home, and for free if I'm patient. But that's the hard part. I'm not patient at all! lol I search craigslist all of the time but haven't had anything work out and it's getting a little discouraging. But I know I'll find one! Sorry for this long post guys! It's just something I felt like getting off my chest and I know this is the best place to do it!

I'm in Iowa and we always have a ton here on CL. If Hubby wasn't allergic... we'd be rolling in fuzzies. Some days it's a toss up which one I love more. If you get too impatient, and one pops up here that pulls at you, let me know and maybe we can work out some sort of ferret railroad. ~Kelli

I was going to suggest GCFA but I see someone beat me to it! If it's within driving distance for you I'd definitely suggest it, you can even bring Pj and introduce him (her?) to potential new siblings at the shelter. StivsFerretBusiness knows more about them because she volunteers there.

What about Petfinder.com? That's where I rescued my dog from but they also list other pets as well and you can search by zip code.

Petfinder.com is how I found the girly I'm waiting to hear news about. Search under small and furry, for the breed type in ferret, and then your zipcode. They show closest first and then further away the deeper in to the search you go.
