many years ago one of my ferrets ate half of an ear plug. i have no idea how he found it. he was a really good climber and i swear he was a genius ferret because he could open anything. so he was throwing up one day and i couldn't figure out why. then i found something large and blue in his vomit. he was able to throw it up! it was entirely in one piece! that would have been so disastrous. he ended up dying young anyway from something else but that was so scary when it happened.

Gah that sounds like Koda. Genius ferret that can climb or open anything and everything. I think he has retractable, opposable thumbs. He can open tupperware/rubbermaid boxes. *facepalm* Nothing is safe from him! Luckily it takes a lot of work for him to open those so he doesn't have the patience to do it often. Thanks for all of the good wishes guys. I was freaking out because I ran out of pumpkin (it is all mixed into their food in the freezer! lol) and my FerretVite seems to go bad (it's like turned into liquidy watery goop instead of dark paste... ) and Koda won't eat much Vaseline if it isn't mixed with something. Then I found a few containers of squash baby food in my fridge! Yaaay! I used squash baby food long before I started buying pumpkin and IME it works great. So I mixed the baby food with some Vaseline and gave Koda a TON. He got a huge spoonful, and then some extra squash. Maybe he eats things so he can get treats. Kenai got a little bit too. He kindly cleaned my finger off after mixing the squash and Vaseline up on the spoon. Nothing eventful last night. Koda seemed to be ok this morning too. He was playing with Kenai and very alert and adorable watching me while I got ready for work with that "I can come out?" look on his face. Brat. Anyways, I will keep giving him Vaseline and do a more thorough search and vacuum of my room later tonight. *sigh* FERRETS!!!!

Good to hear he is active and alert. Ferrets can be sooo stressful. Has he pooped at all? What about vomit?

Koda sure likes to keep you on your toes. I don't envy you there. Hope you find the piece and glad he still seems well (and Koda-like).

We've still got our fingers crossed for Koda. Have you found that foot yet? I'm hoping that it's not in his tummy and somewhere in your room ciao

Sorry for the delayed reply guys. I am supposed to be finishing my thesis. lol Anyways. I found a big Vaseline poop in the box - but Kenai got Vaseline too. Koda got a TON though and it was a big poop, so I think it was his. No signs of any issues all night. I have not seen him poop, but he does not seem prolapsed. If anything less prolapsed than usual.... I will try to scour my room tomorrow. No time today, and we went to Shane's so I didn't have to worry about it being around somewhere while they played...

Good to know Koda seems okay As smart as these critters are, they don't seem to know what's good for them
