I put a plastic tub in the bath tub and fill it with water and throw their crinkle balls in it and they dunk their heads like they are bobbing for apples! They love it!

Oh my goodness!! How CUTE. Look at those little (big) ferret brains work!
Makes me think they feel they are fishing. I can't help but wonder what they'd do with a tub full of tiny fish swimming around in it. O.O Has anyone on here tried it? *curious*

I was thinking ab that actually, bc we have a 3000 gal moist pond and they had moist and goldfish babies but Omg there are hundreds and we need to get rid of them or the population increase as they grow will throw off the balance of the pond. Maybe if I put some in a baby pool? Clovis loves swimming underwater and rasinette too, but the others just like to splash. That's why I just put a container of water in the tub.

They appeared to be having so much fun, trying to get their crinkle balls. I don't know about the fish...Mad Max used to love fishing for the Oscars in the fish tank (of course they were as big as he was but he didn't care) Now, I wasn't letting him, he figured out how to get into the back of the large tank. It was a lot of work, he had to run along the front window sill (not that wide really, there has been more than once where they've fallen off the sill, it's not very high), he then would climb the cat tower (over 6 ft tall), hop over and run along the top of the TV, jump down on the stereo, along the next window sill and on to the back of the fish tank. He even figured out how to flip the lid and get in with them. I finally tacked down the lid but that didn't stop him from snorkeling in the gap at the back between the filter and the heater. I'm wondering if the little gold fish minnows might be too small for them to see. Their eye sight isn't very good. ciao

Since you have so many you could give it a try. If it's successful you should post a thread about it in live feeding. Video, pics. That'd be cool.

Haha, what a great idea. I might just try that with fish. Should be a fun way for them to cool down here in Oz

It just cracks me up how they cannot leave balls in the water where they don't belong! I have a larger tub I used for bobbing and would put some pop bottle caps in there on the bottom and it was hilarious watching them try to get them out without getting wet! Hobo would stretch as far as she possibly could trying not to touch it, and Pandora would stick her front in and then get all mad about it. I need to gather some toys and do this in the kitty room with mine, it's been awhile.

I've put shiners and minnow left over from hubbys fishing trips in a big pyrex baking dish and they loved it! I also put them in the dogs and cats water bowls for them to catch and eat and it went over really well.

I was also thinking about doing the fish thing but with mollys or swordtails since they're live bearers and easy to breed/raise.
