looks awesome! won't that be a pain in the rear when it comes time to clean? ie: reaching under platforms to clean? or do they lift up so you can take out bowls that way lol

LOL It's like a ferret buffet! Every bowl has something different.

They come right out to clean, they're very light. Which is good since some of us like to have accidents in the box.

I love it, and might eventually steal your idea (when I get some ferrets...)

Is there a concern about using wood to make ferret items? I was thinking of building a custom trundle style tunnel & den box to fill the space under my fouton. Right now, Rufus is stashing hunks of meat under there and Trigger likes to poop there. I thought that if I filled the space, maybe they will use it for what it's for. I thought I'd make a series of linked tunnels and boxes and set it up so that there are litter boxes in some, bedding in others, and food stashes in others. Rough Drawing: My concern is whether or not it is safe to use plywood? My guys don't chew on any of my wood furniture but I had heard that wooden boxes weren't the best option for them?

Mine aren't wood chewers either. Those shelves were made of plywood scrap. We sanded it smooth with a power sander and then sealed it with a brush on lacquer basically to help keep the wood from absorbing odors and help keep it from growing bacteria from meat blood etc. So long as they don't chew on it and there are no sharp edges, it should be ok.
