I get the salmon oil in capsules in my local GNC store...I put it on the NV medallions which they get in the morning, 2 drops for the hobs, 1 drop for the jills. That seems to be adequate, as they all have soft, shiny coats.

I've been using seal oil with Rolo for months now - he loves it! It doesn't have a smell and it doesn't make him smelly either. We are both big fans of it. Sometimes I definitely give him too much (like, over at teaspoon at a time) but so far nothing bad has come of it.

SeaPet is deodorized and tested for heavy metals, which is also another great option (I ran out and am waiting for more to come in) I had not noticed an odor with SeaPet www.seapet.com/fishoils.aspx
