Thank you, I will try make some lettuce asap, hopefully he doesn't have a bad hairball The schedule looks good; I'm going to print it out and see how it goes. I usually wake up at 8 unless I am required to wake up earlier. I got home around 5 today, thawed a single cube of soup and just filled the other half up with water so I could add some to the kibble for Goomba. When I went in the room Pippin and Ellie woke up and drank about half of the soup, then ran around doing ferrety stuff, sniffing things, sliding around and stretching, etc. Goomba was asleep, so I picked him up but he didn't really wake up. He let me brush him and hold him and was half-asleep (he usually hates to be held). When he woke up both his legs and his tail were trembling He didn't look so good when I first set him down, his mouth was just kind of hanging open and he was just sort of laying on the floor with his head turned sideways. I had an idea to feed the super watery chicken soup out of the same syringe that olive oil/ferretone is given, so it's associated with yumminess. I put the soup and a drop of olive oil at the end, and he drank the whole thing. I was able to give him a lot of the soupy water all by itself. When he realized it tasted like the chicken he would start gagging, so I would just dab the tip with oil and he would keep drinking. I'm going to offer him some more in an hour and keep the kibble soup in the cage, too. I feel like this trembling just came out of nowhere I have a vet appointment for Saturday morning, the vet who is most knowledgeable on ferrets is currently out of town Here is Goomba being a very good boy

I just fed him again, and he is still shaking a bit. Also, his toes are curled weirdly like they're cramped and he's walking clumsily. I have to set him down front paws first, or else he can't balance properly. Would the symptoms be similar if he had a blockage from the fur?

Hmmm, yes it could potentially... Has he been pooping? When did he poop last? Can you separate him from the others to monitor his output? Immsending you a PM but are there any emergency vets in the area? Also, try to rub some Karo syrup on his gums. If it was insulinoma the crash *should* in theory have stopped or at least improved.

I woke up and goomba was eating and walking around. He was playful his morning with me and Ellie. He ate some of the hickey soup through he syringe and after Ellie and pippin drank their full there was some thicker stuff at the bottom so I poured it in with the kibble water and goomba still drank it. He ate a lot throughout the morning and I made more soup before I left so hopefully he will be ok until 6. I think I told you the wron schedule but I have class 12-5:30 today and 12-1:30 on Thursdays

It sounds like he's feeling a little better at least. Hopefully he's passed the hairball and the ordeal is over, but I'd consider continuing to give him 1/2 tsp Vaseline today/tomorrow just to be on the safe side. I'll check back in when I get home from work in a few hours.

So he's definitely been having good poops today. However, after feeding this evening his legs are still shaky and belly still feels hard.

Poor little dude. How is he eating and what's his activity level like? Definitely keep a close eye on him and if he gets Any worse I'd take him into the vet earlier rather than wait until Fri/Sat.

He's back to sleeping a lot. He a some soup, but not enough. I hope he perks up before then because the other vet that is there for the week doesn't know hardly anything about ferrets there is another vet that takes them at my school but it's $70, and I'm sure the BG test cost is jacked up. which is really steep, but if he gets worse then I won't have a choice.

I have to wake up at 5:45 am so I can feed them all, so I will be in bed. I'm going to try to feed Goomba some soup before, though. Hopefully he will eat.

He ate a little and is sleeping with the others now. I'm so worried sick. And tomorrow I won't be home most of the day. I'm completely exhausted, I wish I could just be home all day looking after him.

Poor little guy. I know the feeling. When Koda had his surgery I so did NOT want to have to go to class or work. *hugs* You said they are free roam, but do you keep them in the cage when you are gone or are they free roam all the time? If they are in the cage during the day, perhaps you could set up a computer and plug in a webcam and have it running on skype or something so you can check in here and there? Not sure if that would work or not... How are the other 2 doing? For Goomba, what are his poops looking like? Will he eat dry kibble?

PS if you have a question or problem that needs a faster answer you can text me any time now that you have my number. I'll reply if I can, but I can't always reply right away at work, though I do try to check my phone periodically. When I'm at home my phone is almost always on me.

When I first woke up at 5, goomba was eating soggy kibble our of the bottom of the food bowl, which is a ceramic bowl about 5 inches in diameter that I always put his kibble water/ chicken soup. I thawed some chicken soup inside and I went back in the room and he was sleeping. Ellie drank half and pippin finished of the other half (1 cube) so I thawed another cube. Pippin ate half and I hand fed goomba about a fourth of the chicken soup by syringe, then mixed the rest with warm water and kibble which he drank until was full. He seems to do better in the mornings. His poops have been more solid since the Vaseline, and slightly seed in some parts. They are free roam all day. A video camera could be helpful, but it sounds expensive so I would need to look into it. The others are doing well, I was glad to see pippin pig out this morning and Ellie is her usual self; stashing things, restashing things, following me constantly, getting into trouble, the whole nine yards.

Goomba ate when I got home, didn't seem as lethargic as the past couple days. I usually add a little water to the chicken soup, then water to the kibble, then mix the two together, but today he ate the kibble with watery chicken soup, so basically less water, more soup. Ellie is insane and has way too much energy. Pippin had been downing the soup, and being strange old Pippin. He sleeps wherever he gets tired, and lately it's been in the most unusual places, say, in the middle of the room, in the middle of the walkways, on top of cardboard boxes, on plastic bags, in purses

The extra energy is normal. Her body is getting more nutrients, so she has more energy. lol It sounds like they are doing well. Goomba sounds like he is doing a bit better also. Definitely continue syringe feeding him the raw soup. Have you tried finger-feeding him any soup? Now that he is taking it from the syringe and accepting the taste, it should become easier and easier to finger feed him. Try finger feeding him some every day, preferably every time you feed him. I would like to get him entirely off of the kibble soup as soon as possible, but I don't want to rush him too much either. It's a fine balance. So you have 2 options at this point. We can start moving Ellie and Pippin forwards, or we can give it some more time to figure out what is going on with Goomba and allow him to catch up a bit before moving on. I am okay with either decision, I will leave it up to you. For Ellie and Pippin, if you do decide to move forwards with them, we would start removing kibble from the soup recipe (if you have been using it) and gradually adding less water to make the soup more thick, more of a puree than a soup (it may take a few days to go from soup to puree). Just let me know what you want to do.
