How is he doing? How are Ellie and Pippin? Is Pippin doing okay with his meds and such? I'm leaving to go out of town for about 5 days on the 4th, but I will be at least semi-reachable by text if you need me.

Hey. Pippin's stomach started swelling again, and he went in a completely downward spiral. They gave us pain medication that was 5x too strong and he was shaking and twitching when we brought him back to the vet. So yeah, it's been terribly stressful over here, having to hand feed Pippin every few hours. I thought he had given up but today he was eating meat (was on carnivore care) and had enough strength to climb up to the cage, which he hasn't been able to do in a few days. Anyway, Ellie is a complete brat. We have to lock in the cage while the others eat and she just pouts and refuses to eat her food. She'll eventually sigh and take a few bites of hers, but as soon as we open the cage door she's pushing everyone out of her way to check Goomba's bowl and see if there is anything left to steal and stash. Goomba is doing well, we're giving him chicken wing tips and he gnaws on them for a long time. He can crack and eat them, but we're still working on the bigger pieces. He's eating stew meat-sized chunks, and we don't have to force his face in it anymore, he eats on his own.

Poor Pip! Goomba is still eating well without kibble correct? As long as that is the case there's really no reason that he can't share a bowl with Ellie... Is there anything that any of them are having problems with still diet-wise?

Goomba won't eat heart or liver by itself which is why he is fed separately. She is also a brat and will eat and stash all the food and nudge his head out of the bowl when he tries to eat

As long as you have the base min of 3 that's okay, more can always be added in as it's available. Family has been in town, sorry I haven't been very active. This summer has been unexpectedly crazy... Yes you are done. You just need to repost your updated Menu and Heather has to approve it. But you are IMO very ready for graduation! You have had a hard time of it with your troublesome crew but I'm so proud of you and them! You did amazingly, especially considering all of hte roadblocks you had to work around. Good job! *hugs*

Ok, world, here it goes... my weekly menu SundayAM:Chicken Wings PM:Pork (eggshell) MondayAM:Chicken Hearts (eggshell, dab of pumpkin) PM:Beef (eggshell) TuesdayAM:Chicken Wings PM:Turkey Necks WednesdayAM:Chicken Hearts/Beef Liver (eggshell, pumpkin) PM:Beef/Gizzards ThursdayAM:Chicken Wings PM:Pork (eggshell) FridayAM:Pork PM:Chicken Liver (eggshell, pumpkin) SaturdayAM:Turkey Necks PM:Chicken Wings/Gizzards For the eggshell I probably add about 1/4 tsp. sprinkled over it and a little more on heart/liver meals Goomba may be allergic to turkey, so I've taken that out for the time being. I'm going to look into cornish game hen, see if I can find a place that has any, and go to the asian market and halal market in the city and try to pick up a few things, see how they take to it. From here on out I'll be focusing on finding new proteins to spice things up a little. Does everything look good?

I"m sorry, I missed the original request, my computer is being weird. I think the ferrets have taken it over Congratulations you've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone, now . You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzzes in a more natural and healthy manner. I find that your menu is a little chicken heavy but we often lean on chicken to provide bone. I noticed that you also mentioned that you think your wee one is sensitive to turkey, so an alternative protein might be a good idea, even without the turkey you've enough basic proteins. Keep trying different proteins, it also means if you're ever stuck they can be fed out of any local grocer. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret (as I'm sure you are more than aware of) and throughout each their lives. I would also like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create and adjust your little ones diets, you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. Despite graduating, please continue to search out other protein sources to expand and improve your little ones diet. Good luck, in a few days either Sherry or I will lock down this thread. If you wish to update your menu do so now as it will be viewed and can be used by yourself and many others at any time as a reference tool. Once it gets locked down you will not be able to post or change it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you shortly . Good luck . Congratulations again ciao
