I could well be wrong- but I think his seasons could well be screwed up. Born in late Nov. means his mother was artificially brought into heat for breeding.

That would be really nice if that were the case, I am on my phone and my comp is in the car so ill still post pics, just tom. It's just after midnite here and I live on a couple acres on the river...so there are lots of animals around at nite. Basically I'm too scared to go to the car lol.

I think pictures would definitely help. Sometimes it's hard to explain what you see with words.

These are the best pics I have on my comp at the moment. Unfortunately, the most recent two where I'd like you to see the tail are blurry , but I will take some more of MegaWeasel when I get home and post them. Here are some pics from about June, he has a very fat and fluffy face (and fat body). You can tell by the pic he is sooo soft. These are early fall when he started to lose weight; Sept? I think is the 2nd one, which would make him 10 months. And one from early Dec. He also shed his fluffly soft down coat and had a lot coarser fur, but his tail was fine. (I kind of attributed the weight to actually having a playmate to wrestle with. Bc before Clovis, Beatric and Badger wouldn't play with him, then as soon as Clovis came along they were hard core wrestling all the time). These are the most recent (about 3 weeks ago), not so great view of the tail, but I'll repost. There is nowhere that skin completely exposed, just sparse. These were taken with my phone, and resized when I sent them to photobucket thru a msg. The light is kinda blown out too.

I think what you may be seeing is a combination of losing his baby fat and shedding his winter weight. I am no expert on this, but I wouldn't take the fur to be a sign until you can be sure that it isn't involved with the spring shed.

I hope so, but it has been like this for awhile, so hopefully its mixed seasons and coat changes.

My baby Trixie (similar to Mega) was VERY chubby for a while. Then suddenly, around 11-13 months, she started shedding weight like crazy. Slimming down and she became very trim. This happened around Oct-Nov. I was worried she was sick, because she was supposed to be putting on winter weight. I attributed the weight loss to losing her baby fat and switching to raw.
Mega is just now becoming an adult and is probably going through some funky changes. I would give him a bit of time and see what he does. If he starts losing weight quickly (or doesn't stop losing weight), take him to the vet. But I wouldn't jump to conclusions based on his weight and coat.

Well the fact that he turned into a molestor is what got me worried... but idk if it's just 'spring fever' or I am mistaken his molesting for just playing rough as usual.

that doesn't look like an adrenal ferret to me. looks like he may be blowing his coat. he's becoming a man. i wouldn't jump the gun with him just yet. there are a few times in a ferret's life when they really REALLY shed like crazy. and when this happens, they look awful. usually happens when they are under 3 yrs.

i feel like since we know the signs and want to catch it as soon as we can we tend to be a bit paranoid... i know i am with my guys its like ohhh you jumped on her and grabbed her neck and didnt want to let go and then i grumble a bit, and i calm down and give my self a thousand reasons why he would do it. when all the other reasons stack up against adrenal i feel better
