BTW Katt, Nicodemus changed the Ninja Ferrets group photo to Koda's pic. Awww That is so sweet! Update on Koda - he ate! Yaaaay! *insert big sigh of relief* Good boy! He just needed his Meats! He ate a few spoonfuls of chicken soupies (mixed with a nice amount of ferretvite), then he got tired. Now he's napping on my chest while we wait to see if he can come home. They just gave him a good hit of IV pain meds before I got here so he's pretty doped up. Poor baby. He peed once too which is good. My poor baby Koda Bear! Why oh why is he such a troublemaker while at the same time being the most precious thing in my life! I don't know what I'd do without him. <3

Awww.. Poor baby! Thank heavens he's okay!! I can't believe after everything he's been through he still has the energy to eat soupies and try and steal the spoon. What a little trooper! Get well soon baby Koda! P.S. Did the vet end up showing you a picture of the tail Katt?

Oh, Katt. He does look remarkably good. I really hope that he's learned his lesson this time. His belly's starting to look like a road map (of things a ferret shouldn't try eating ) Give the wee boy a hug. Tell him to please, please behave. He's not a cat and if he was he's used up a fair number of his lives. Good luck. Stay safe, sleep well little Koda, be good...please. ciao

Good news! The vet let him go home! We are curled up in bed together right now, and Koda is sleeping in my jacket. I took his "tiger tail" home and will post pics. I think it is a drawstring! The only thing is, neither Shane nor I have any clothes that look like the string. I think part of why it didn't pass, is that half of it is a knot! And the vet said it was really bunched up and lodged in his intestines. Rotten little beastie! I will definitely take and upload a ton of pics. Right now I am too tired to even move, but I'll try to post some tonight if not tomorrow. The total cost was $1162.60 Pet Assure discounts 25%, so that brought it down to $871.95. A few people requested that I extend the chip in so I did. I am absolutely amazed already though, and so incredibly grateful. There are just no words. I am so grateful and blessed to be part of such a wonderful group of people! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart - and the bottom of Koda's belly!

Thanks for extending the chipin, I will contribute on Monday when I have a breather from work.

So glad he's back at home! And since I didn't have the cash in the PP I thought I did, I'll be adding to it when it clears from my account. Not a lot since I'm also still paying off $1000 to the vet. But some

Oh my god I just saw this! What a little monster you have Katt, you are going to have to put this boy in a bubble or get a tiny muzzle, he is just determined to kill himself or put you in the poorhouse. I'm going to chip in a little for you.

A tiny muzzle sounds like a plan! Right along with a miniature ball and chain to make him easier to keep track of!

Oh! I am so so so so happy for you Katt! Glad you figured out what it was in time. And that post-surgery pic looks REALLY good! Sounds like he is already doing better since he peed and ate.

Koda was a little more alert this morning but not much. I gave him his dose of pain meds. He wasn't eating and I had to go to an appt so Shane watched him. He still wasn't eating so he hand fed him and said he ate a few spoonfuls of chicken-pork soup. Then he wanted to be put down and peed. Shane tried feeding him more but he wiggled to be put down again and went back to sleep. He pooped a few times last night, so that's good. He's not as with it as I'd like to see but I know the pain meds are hitting him hard and he was in much worse shape before surgery this time than with his first blockage. I'll see how he's doing this evening. I *may* cut back on the pain meds just a little if he still isn't eating on his own. I think he might just be too out of it. I might see if I can get some meds that won't knock him out so much too. They only gave me 2 days' worth of meds. Bupenorphine.

Did they use internal stitches so he doesnt chew it open? Would he like freeze dried soupies better? Thats all I could get Loki too eat while she was on her pain meds after her tooth extraction.
