For what it's worth, box springs often have foam rubber hidden up underneath them. Really? Ugh. OMG. That must be it....I don't know what else on this planet it could be! I mean we have ferret proofed and ferret proofed and ferret proofed! And we watch him like a hawk! He is such a noisy chewer though (something I am ever thankful for), I would think we'd hear him. We always listen for chewing sounds. After 3 years it's programmed into our brains. We frequently check on noises going OMG what is he doing?! Only to find him licking his fur! We are super paranoid because he is such a chewer.

I'm absolutely terrified that it will be a tumor or something. I pray it is a blockage and not that!

Can you have them look at his adrenals while he's under? I know that's not your focus, but it could be beneficial.

I hope it's a blockage too not a tumor Meanwhile I would be looking at the underside of that box spring to see if it is open and if there is foam there, so you know in the future. My box spring had fabric covering the bottom, but the ferrets were able to tear holes in there and climb up inside the box spring, then INSIDE up under the box spring was where there was foam. There were strips about 1 inch wide and maybe 1/4 inch thick. I got lucky that nobody ate any.

I tried to call in a donation directly to the vet because I do not have a paypal to do the chip in but they would not let me ~*Opal Raven and the Business of Flower, Amalia & Davinger *~ They called. Weird that they can't just take a card over the phone. Oh well, I appreciate the offer. I'm already amazed at how many people have chipped in. I WILL pay it forward. Thank you all! Koda should be going under any minute now, if he isn't under all ready. Fingers crossed!

Yaay! Koda is out of surgery! The surgery sounds like it went well. I am at work so I didn't have a ton of time to talk to the vet. She removed the tail of a stuffed animal..she said it looked like a tiger tail! WTF? I don't even HAVE any stuffed tigers!!!! She said it was very bunched up and his intestines above it were very dilated, but there was no compromise to any of the intestines or bowel, which is really good. The tail was definitely not budging though - there was simply no way he could have passed it. He is still out of it, it will take some time to wake up from the anesthesia. I will probably try to stop and visit him if I get a lunch today and if he is awake enough for them to allow me to visit when I do get it. He should be ready to come home by the time I get off work tonight. My poor baby! I'm so relieved that he is done and SO stumped about the tail. I mean where the heck could it have come from?!?! Time to ransack my entire house and Shane's! I will be doing a serious deep clean of my room, the play room, my living room, Shane's room, and Shane's den/living room area. Pretty much any and ever room that the ferrets ever go in. I'm at a total loss.... Ugh! Koda! You trouble maker!!!! Thank you all SO SO much for your support and generosity. I can't say how much I appreciate it. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU - from me, Shane, Koda, and Kenai! We are in your debt, and I will do my utmost to pay it forward whenever I can. I love you guys.
