I've been trying to type something for the past hour, but i can't deal with this post....so, here goes... We lost our sweet little "Tomichi girl" to lymphoma/cancers. She lived long and well. She was extremely healthy all her life and very strong to the very last day. She was 7.5.
We promised her we would celebrate her long, healthy life rather than mourn her death. She was our Tusan Homichi, our little Warrior Mouse. We miss her terribly. She will always be our little "fitch b**ch".

Sorry for your loss. DIP Tomichi. It's wonderful she was able to live 7.5 years! I know it still feels like it's not enough though. Tomichi

I started to write this last night and couldn't. I know how much you loved your wee girlie. Her candle is lit though, to guide her wee paws on her next adventure. I'm sure that she walks it with all the confidence she had in life. There will be the bounce in her step now and that she-weasel swagger. Gone is the pain and fear. She no longer needs to fight. She is with friends and for now she will dance and play. She will look back and she will be there for you to find....riding the wind, a moonbeam, a star....a dream. She will always be there, that is her gift to you for the heartkey that hangs around her neck. Your gift to her. Gentle journey sweet little girl, a glass is raised in toast to the "Warrior Mouse". Dance well wee one...dance free ciao

Thank you all for the kind words. Meach did not suffer - we decided to not try to treat the congestive heart failure - at 7.5 with adrenal and some elevated ALT, we figured that she'd have nothing but trouble ahead. Our holistic vet is awesome at helping with such decisions - he's realistic about things, and he really focuses on what's best for the animals -> Tomichi and her brother and sister who are still with us in our house (Meach will always be with us in our hearts). All I can say is that we have been so lucky to have such a wonderful ferret who lived a long and healthy life. ( My vet and I swear that raw rocks!!!) We can miss our little girl, but we cannot feel sorry for anything - she lived a life to be celebrated. Unfortunately, we cannot keep them around forever. -jennifer (it still freakin' hurts to let them go )
